Tom Brady ‘cursed out’ Antonio Brown’s agent to pressure him to stay with Bucs in 2021, ex-WR says

Antonio Brown alleges ex-boyfriend and teammate Tom Brady cursed the former NFL receiver’s agent in 2021 in an attempt to pressure him into accepting a contract offer from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 34-year-old Brown has been out of the NFL since January 2022, when he stormed the field at MetLife Stadium after a sideline altercation with his Buccaneers coaches. Brown was seen stripping off his uniform and leaving the field in the third quarter of Tampa Bay’s victory over the New York Jets before skipping the team’s flight home to Florida.

Since then, he has been regularly targeting the recently retired Brady on various platforms, including social media and podcasts, such as the recent episode of “Million Dollaz Worth of Game.”

“If we get the ring in 2021, I’ll be the last guy to sign the following year,” Brown said. “My agent, Ed Wasielewski, gets a call, berated by Tom Brady about why he’s pushing back for the contract for scrap metal. Imagine hearing that, the same guy who brought you in to win a ring, the same agent he told you to hook up with to close the deal, doesn’t tell me, the guy calls him and says: yo, berating him about bits of contract.’

When asked for clarification, Brown summarized Brady’s message to Wasielewski: “Why don’t you take this deal?”

Antonio Brown claims ex-teammate Tom Brady cursed the former trustee’s agent in 2021

Brown and Brady’s bromance blossomed in 2020, as the QB lured the receiver to the Bucs

If Brown’s claims are true, it seems Brady was hoping Brown would sign his contract and return to the Bucs so the two could try to win a second Super Bowl together.

Wasielewski did not respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment and clarification.

The quarterback and receiver were briefly around, albeit long before Brown started making fun of Brady for his divorce from Gisele Bundchen on social media.

Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl winner, had encouraged the Bucs to acquire the embattled Brown in 2020 amid allegations of sexual assault and harassment, which the trustee has since settled out of court. Brady even allowed Brown to stay with him in preparation for the season.

A year earlier, Brady had urged the New England Patriots to sign Brown, but the team had him cut after one game when the sexual misconduct allegation first surfaced.

But in 2021, Brown had yet to collide with the Buccaneers. The two were still teammates in a Super Bowl win, while Brown hoped for a contract extension with Tampa Bay.

Brown would eventually re-sign with the Bucs in April 2021 on a one-year, $6.25 million deal that included $3 million in guarantees.

“I give everyone their props from a team standpoint, as far as the team goes, but you know, we all have our own agendas in the middle of the team,” Brown told the podcast, apparently suggesting Brady introduced him to Wasielewski.

“So when you are an older player, you get deals like that, you fancy, and I tell you, my agent has been telling me before the season that this man, who he put me in touch with, calls him, scolds him about the contract.’

True, the seven-time Super Bowl winner had encouraged the Bucs to acquire Brown

Brown had previously revealed a text message supposedly from Brady in 2021

Brown had previously revealed a text message supposedly from Brady around this time.

“You are demonstrating a very poor decision and poor communication with so many people who have gone above and beyond to help you,” the post, which Brown shared on Snapchat last November, began.

The name at the top of the message reads ‘TOM BRADY’ and the text appears to have been sent on May 10, 2021 at 12:58 PM.

If the text message is real, it’s unclear what Brady was referring to at the time.

Brown was criticized for associating with rapper 6ix9ine in the days before Brady’s alleged texting. The two had taken to social media competing for passes in the end zone.

In the end, however, Brown gave no context for Brady’s long text.

“You’re acting selfish and unfortunately a lot of those people are exhausted by the erratic and unpredictable emotional behavior,” Brady continued. “When I met you you were humble, willing to learn and eager to improve things in tour life. In a short time you have done those things and achieved great things. And very much on the path to long-term success.

“Unfortunately, you have reverted very much to the immature man who is selfish, selfish, irrational, and irresponsible. For example, I have been disappointed in many behaviors over the past few months. It seems like you’ve lost that humility and that APG,” Brady added, perhaps referring to the phrase “Praise God.”

“You’ve gone from hanging out with good quality people who were genuinely interested in seeing you succeed, to seeing others whose lives are erratic and out of control, leading you down a negative path.”

Brown has taken to social media with photoshopped photos of him and Bundchen embracing

Brown’s post immediately sparked speculation about his reasoning.

The social media manager of the Boson sports radio show, Toucher and Rich, suggested that the former Patriots quarterback looks like a good guy in the exchange.

“So Antonio Brown is trying to make Tom Brady look like the bad guy here?” read Toucher and Rich’s tweet. “Because he comes across as a damn good friend around here…”

More recently, Brown has attacked Brady on social media over his divorce from model Gisele Bundchen.

Brown has regularly posted edited photos, playfully suggesting that he is in a romantic relationship with Brady’s ex.

In March, Brown announced he was retiring as a player to become part owner of the Albany Empire, a National Arena League (NAL) team his father once played for.
