Tom Brady admits ‘year hasn’t gone the way I want’ as he marks New Year with his children amid ex Gisele’s pregnancy

Tom Brady admitted that 2024 didn’t go “the way he wanted” in a candid Instagram post as he celebrated New Year’s Eve with his three children.

The former NFL star, 47 — who recently showed off his ripped physique while golfing with son Jack — also expressed gratitude for the “blessings” and loved ones in his life in a lengthy message written Wednesday.

He uploaded an assortment of photos as he posed with son Benjamin, 15, and daughter Vivian, 12 – who he shares with ex Gisele Bundchen. Tom is also dad to Jack, 17, who he welcomed with ex Bridget Moynahan.

Brady’s latest post comes nearly three months after Bundchen revealed her pregnancy with boyfriend Joaquim Valente in October 2024, leaving him “stunned” by the revelation.

He wrote to his 15.1 million followers: “I couldn’t have imagined a better way to ring in the new year than with the loves of my life.”

“As we look back on the past year and think about the year to come, there is no better perspective than looking at these three and always trying to be better for them every day, and help guide them in any way we can.”

Tom added that he was “so grateful for the experiences, blessings, family, friends and everyone else who has impacted me along the way….”

“I am so blessed to have joy and gratitude in my life,” the star shared, adding, “No year turns out exactly the way we want it to, but when I think about 2024, I couldn’t imagine anything better. ‘

‘So many new experiences that I have been able to share with wonderful people, especially the three beautiful angels in these photos.’

Finally, the football pro wrote to his fans: ‘I wish you all a happy and healthy 2025, and as I say to so many of my loved ones, “the best is yet to come!”.’

Brady shared several images to the Instagram carousel, and in one of them he showed off a cheerful smile while standing next to Vivian, Benjamin and Jack.

The siblings paused for light-hearted photos together and the retired NFL player took time for a photo with each of his children.

He also took a selfie with his daughter as they rode in a golf cart, big smiles on their faces as they spent quality time together.

Tom uploaded a photo of the golf course lined by palm trees and a colorful sky at sunset.

Another view was another part of the trail that offered breathtaking views of the ocean and the sun setting on the horizon.

The photo collage also showed his daughter Vivian making a heart shape with her arms while standing in the water at a tropical destination.

On New Year’s Eve, Tom showed off his ripped physique in an Instagram photo while playing a round of golf with his eldest son, Jack.

Brady wore black shorts and white sneakers, while a backwards cap was placed on his head.

As they both enjoyed a track match to close out 2024, the star wrote: “Perfect way to end the year.”

Tom and his ex, Gisele Bundchen, were previously married from 2009 until their divorce in 2022.

Late last year, in November 2024, Tom notably shared a cryptic quote about “failing” and “falling short” in the wake of Gisele’s pregnancy bombshell.

The quote was from former President Theodore Roosevelt and was featured on a card the NFL star held up in a photo on social media.

And at the 2024 Fortune Global Forum in New York City, he also admitted that he’s “messed up a lot as a parent.”

A source recently told DailyMail.com last month in December that Brady has struggled with dating so far as he puts the “sting” of Bundchen’s new romance behind him.

‘Tom would like to date more, but he is busy and very focused on his first year as a commentator. It’s easier to be single now.’

The former NFL star notably signed a 10-year Fox deal worth $375 million in September.

‘Everything stings at first. That she got pregnant, that she dated Joaquim, that she moved on. But then he gets back on his feet and stays busy, knows that his life is pretty good and it’s a waste of time to worry about things he has no control over.”

The insider added: “He could complain, but what’s the point. He made the most of the relationship with Gisele until it fell apart, now it’s not his problem anymore. He’ll be fine.’

Gisele and Valente first started dating in June last year, but Tom Brady ‘never thought’ the model would have a child with Joaquim, per Page six.

Her pregnancy was not on his ‘radar’ and the news had left him ‘stunned to say the least’.

Before celebrating New Year’s Eve, Bundchen showed off her growing baby bump during a relaxing getaway to Costa Rica late last month in December.

She stepped into the ocean water on the beach wearing a black bikini top and matching bottoms.

And last Sunday, the Brazilian-born supermodel was spotted strolling along the coast with Valente.

At one point, she paused for a photo cradling her burgeoning belly while a female companion took the photo.

For the impromptu photo shoot, she wore a white tank top and a cream wrap skirt.

After the pregnancy news came to light, an insider said People that Gisele is “excited to openly embrace this new chapter.”

The beauty has since received ‘many positive messages and congratulations’ and initially wanted to keep her pregnancy ‘private for as long as possible, it was starting to become a challenge.’

Bundchen is “feeling good” and is doing “pilates and other exercises that will also help with labor.”

The source went on to tell the newspaper that Gisele has “always taken great care of herself” and “eats healthy and also meditates.”

Bundchen is also “taking a step back from work to focus on her pregnancy.”
