Tom Brady admits he’s ‘still working on’ being present with his children in Father’s Day tribute

NFL legend Tom Brady jokingly admitted that he’s still working on being present with his kids after retiring from the NFL in a Father’s Day post.

The 45-year-old shared a heartwarming Father’s Day post dedicated to his own father, Tom Brady Snr., and his three children.

Brady shares his youngest two children, Benjamin and Vivian, with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen and also has his oldest son, Jack, from his two-year relationship with Bridget Moynahan, which ended in 2006.

He posted a series of photos of his children on his Instagram, expressing his pride in being their father, alongside a touching tribute to his own father.

He also claimed that being a father is the “best thing” in his life and that his kids taught him to be more present, but admitted it was still something he was working on after he retired from the NFL.

In his Instagram caption, the 45-year-old joked that he was still working on attending

“On this Father’s Day, all I can think about is how grateful I am to have been raised by the best dad in the world and now have three beautiful angels of my own that I love watching grow up,” he wrote in the caption.

“Being a father is the best thing in my life. I have learned so much about what is needed from my dad and being able to pass that on to Jack, Benny and Vivi means a lot to me.

“They taught me to be present (still working on this daily) and to cherish every moment (most of the time) we have as a family, because that’s the most important thing.

“Their love for others and constant selflessness makes me so proud to be their father, and I know those qualities come directly from everyone who is a part of their lives. Thank you Dad for being yourself, and thank you to my three wonderful children for giving me the pleasure of being your father.”

In the post, Brady shared a recent photo of himself with his dad, Tom Brady Snr., 79, as well as a throwback photo of the whole family.

A young Brady can be held by his father alongside his mother, Galynn, and his sisters Maureen, Nancy and Julie. Brady is the youngest of the Brady siblings and the only boy.

He then shared a series of photos of his own children, showing the trio beaming together in the garden and on the golf course and his two sons playing in the pool.

He also included one of himself while Vivian and Benjamin were enjoying a meal on what appears to be a family vacation and another of him kissing his youngest son.

During his divorce from Brazilian supermodel Gisele last October, it was reported that she was unhappy with his decision not to retire and return to the NFL.

While the Brazilian beauty dismissed those claims, it appears the seven-time Super Bowl champion is making an effort to spend more quality time with his kids after announcing his decision to retire for the second time in February.

Vivian and Benjamin appeared to have joined their father on a yacht earlier this month when he took part in a challenge.

In a clip shared by the NFL, Brady attempted to smash one of American YouTuber MrBeast’s drones into the sea from the deck of the yacht.

Brady was seen warming up his winning throwing arm before his daughter Vivian jokingly told him, “Dad, you’re going to miss.”

The NFL icon laughed and admitted that he probably would, but that he clearly picked up the football bug again, joking to the camera that if he hit the drone on the first try, “maybe I should retire to go’.

And of course Brady did just that. He launched a one-throw missile over the sea toward where the drone was hovering, reportedly hitting the target with a bang on the first try.

Last month, he and his youngest child Vivian were spotted cruising in his $6M 77-foot Wajer yacht in Miami.

The NoCal native appeared to be checking his phone as his 10-year-old princess checked out the snacks and lemonade aboard the pretty boat, which sleeps nine people and has a range of 400 nautical miles.

Tom also reportedly owns a 40ft ‘Viva a Vida’ yacht docked at his $17M 14K square foot, eight bedroom mansion on Miami’s ‘Billionaire Bunker’ Indian Creek Island in Florida.

The retired 6-foot-4 quarterback recently posted a side-by-side photo of himself and his oldest son, Jack, who looks just a few inches shorter than his father.

“Not yet a child!!!” 45-year-old Brady captioned his Instagram post. ‘I’m still here.’

Jack also appeared to be playing a beach game with Brady’s former New England Patriots earlier this year with his football legend dad.

Brady’s eldest has followed him into football, though not at the urging of the future Hall of Famer.

As Brady told ESPN’s Outside the Lines last week, he hopes Jack finds happiness outside of the game, which of course comes with over-expectations when your dad is a seven-time Super Bowl winner.

“I hope he finds the things in his life that allow him to get up every day to be internally motivated to work hard at something he loves to do,” said Brady. “I don’t think about football. See, a lot of it I wouldn’t choose him to do because there are too many crazy expectations people would place on him.

“Most of them are probably very dishonest actually. So whatever path he chooses in his life, my son Benny, my daughter Vivi, whatever they choose, I’m here to support them.”
