Toddler is mauled by a dog in Ballarat, Victoria
A toddler has been airlifted to hospital after being mauled by a dog.
The boy was in his backyard in Ballarat, Victoria, when he was attacked about 4.40pm on Monday.
An air ambulance landed at a nearby playground before the child was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
His condition is stable and he has serious injuries to his lower body.
The municipality has seized two dogs. It is unclear which breed of dog was involved. The dogs are believed to be owned by a neighbor of the child.
