A Russian mother stabbed her 18-month-old son in the stomach with the kitchen knife to discipline him for “not stopping crying and interrupting her drinking session,” according to reports.
The 22-year-old woman, identified by her name Aida, attacked the child at their home in the village of Priyutovo in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia.
According to reports, the mother and her civil husband, named Viktor, 28, were throwing a party when she accused him of having an affair.
The couple got into an argument before the man left the house, while Aida continued to consume alcohol.
Meanwhile, their son Artem, who had been sleeping in the next room, woke up and started crying.

Police say the mother waited for him to calm down on his own, but when that didn’t happen, she became enraged, grabbed the kitchen knife, ran up to the child and punched him in the stomach three times.
Then Aida threw the knife on the ground and went wandering through the streets.
Some time later, she stopped a pedestrian and asked him to call an ambulance for Artem, according to police reports.
Paramedics found the child in the pool of blood after arriving at the scene and called the police.
The police video shows little Artyom with blood stains on his clothes. You can hear them saying, ‘Oh my god! His intestines are coming out!’
The toddler was rushed to hospital and was found to have serious knife wounds to the intestines.
Doctors stitched up the wounds and managed to save the boy’s life, local media said.

The Investigative Committee for the Bashkiria Region told local media: ‘The mother gave the child at least three blows in the stomach with a knife. She then went outside and asked a passerby to call an ambulance.’
Aida came to the attention of social services in the past when she did not treat the baby for illnesses.
According to authorities, her son will be placed in an orphanage this time.
The mother was sent to a prison. If found guilty, she faces up to seven years in prison.
