If you have trouble running Star field on your PC, game director Todd Howard thinks “you might need to upgrade” since the title is already optimized.
Like GameMe+ reportsIn an interview with Bloomberg Technology, Howard and Xbox CEO Phil Spencer were asked a number of audience questions, one of which was simply, “Why haven’t you optimized this game for PC?”
“We did, it’s going great,” Howard replied, with Spencer laughing in the background. “It’s a next-generation PC game. We’re really pushing the technology, so you might have to upgrade your PC for this game, but there’s a lot of great stuff happening in it and the fans are having a great reaction.
Howard’s reaction may come as a surprise to some, as over the past week, as gamers got caught up in the space exploration RPG, a number of to inform Online players have surfaced signaling PC performance issues. In a thread further Star field‘s Steam Community, one player supposedly: “If I set the graphics settings to low, at any setting at 1080p resolution I still experience constant stuttering, screen tearing and my frame rate is anywhere from 40 to 55 FPS. My computer meets the recommended specifications for this game. There is something very wrong with the performance of this game.”
However, at the time of writing Star field has a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam, as 83% of the reviews were positive. Yesterday (September 6) the game managed to pile up over a million simultaneous players on PC, Xbox Series X|S and cloud streaming – although the exact number per platform hasn’t been revealed, facts shows Steam saw a peak of 269,177.
