Today’s Karl Stefanovic dives into The Project for cutting off Succession star Nicholas Braun
Today, host Karl Stefanovic poked fun at The Project’s Sarah Harris for cutting off Succession star Nicholas Braun in mid-sentence during an interview over the weekend.
Nicholas, 34, appeared on The Project on Sunday night to promote the final season of the popular HBO show started a long story about meeting Quentin Tarantino towards the end of his five minute interview.
However, the Hollywood actor was stopped by host Sarah, who said they were running out of time.
Nicholas, who has since described the moment as “weird,” was interviewed by the Today show on Tuesday, and Karl couldn’t resist poking fun at the saga.
“I know you have a wonderful Quentin Tarantino story, and unfortunately you haven’t been able to share it with the media in Australia yet,” he joked.
He took a clear swipe at The Project, adding, “Yeah, we’ve got time. This is our goddamn show. Can you share that story with us?’
Nicholas agreed and began to tell his story, before Karl jokingly interrupted and said, “Anyway, it’s great to see you.”
After laughing, Nicholas returned to his story of crossing paths with Tarantino on an airplane in 2005.

Nicholas, who was 21 at the time, had recently filmed the Disney Channel movie Sky High and happened to be holding a magazine with an ad for the movie.
After noticing Tarantino in first class, Nicholas decided to tear off the ad and give it to him before the plane took off.
“I was like, ‘That’s me right there, Quentin. That’s me, I’m in this movie. Watch it if you have Disney Channel,” he recalled.
Braun, appeared on The Project on Sunday night to promote the final season of Succession and opened up at the end of his five-minute interview with a lengthy story about his meeting with Quentin Tarantino. However, the Hollywood actor was cut halfway through his sentence by host Sarah Harris, who said he was running out of time
“I know you have a great Quentin Tarantino story, and unfortunately you haven’t been able to share it with the media in Australia yet,” Stefanovic joked. He took a clear swipe at The Project, adding, “Yeah, we’ve got time. This is our goddamn show. Can you share that story with us?’
“It felt so stupid, but I was like ‘I have to do something.’ And his response was, “Hopefully we’ll work together someday,” he continued, adding, “I think I might have tried to get his email the next day, but no one would give it to me.”
“He reported you to the police,” Karl joked, causing the panel to burst into laughter.
Nicholas seemed pleased to finally be able to tell his story after Sunday’s botched appearance on The Project.
It comes after Braun started a lengthy story about meeting Quentin Tarantino towards the end of his five-minute interview on The Project on Sunday — only to be cut off mid-sentence
During that interview, he was only able to get to the part of his story where he presented Quinten with the torn magazine ad.
At that point, host Sarah stepped in and said, “Look, we’re running out of time.”
“I know, but it’s a very important story,” Nicholas replied, to which an even more exhausted Sarah said urgently, “We’ve got to go!” Thank you for joining us.’
Fortunately, Nicholas took it to heart, telling the hosts he looks forward to meeting them in person next time he’s in the country, before the segment ended.
“The movie is about time travel and these kids flying through the time-space continuum in snowsuits…” he continued. At this point a stressed-sounding Harris interjected, “Look, we… We’re running out of time.” (Pictured LR: The Project Hamish Macdonald and Sarah Harris)
