Today you can win a limited edition Apple Watch workout award – here’s how to get it

While it’s not International Day of Yoga – that only happens once a year, on June 21, 2024 – today, August 25, 2024, is a day that Apple Watch workout fanatics can look forward to.

Why? You can earn a limited edition award by completing a workout, and all types are eligible as long as it’s 20 minutes long. The opportunity is to celebrate nature parks at home or visit one in the United States. That could be for a relaxing meditation or yoga workout on a hill, a hike or even kayaking. It could also be a HIIT workout at home.

As Apple celebrates the 108th anniversary of National Parks in the United States and is a long-time partner, anyone who wears an Apple Watch worldwide can complete a 20-minute workout today to win the limited edition award. You’ll also unlock exclusive stickers for iMessage celebrating the parks.

The included stickers are a lot of fun, including someone paddling a kayak through the water, a pretty bee pollinating some flowers, and even an animated version of the limited edition award. To get these, all you need to do is complete a workout of at least 20 minutes today, August 25, 2024.

To do this, open the Workouts app on your Apple Watch. You can press the Digital Crown to find it, press the Action Button on an Apple Watch Ultra if you have that set up, or even ask Siri to open Workouts. From there, you can choose from the long list of workout types and be ready to go.

Once you finish the workout, you will see the award with a fun animation along with your stats (think heart rate and calories burned). It’s that simple, and the sticker set is also unlocked for use.

In addition to the workout award, all purchases made on Apple.com in the US or in an Apple Store in the US using Apple Pay by the end of the day on August 25, 2024 will result in Apple donating $10 to the National Park Foundation. Additionally, as part of iOS 18 and watchOS 10 this fall (think September through November 2024), Apple Maps will expand trail details for national parks in the US.

If you’re already running the iOS 18 public beta, you can try it out now and read all about a secret feature here.
