Today viewers plead for Nine to upgrade their set after Sunrise was given a makeover: ‘Such a depressing way to start the day’

Today viewers of the show have called on Channel Nine to upgrade the set of their breakfast programme, seven months after Sunrise underwent a makeover.

Mediaspy users voiced their opinions online, saying the set was overdue for a ‘refresh’ as it was ‘starting to age’.

“Anyone else agree that this set is getting older? Hopefully a nationwide upgrade is planned in the future,” one user wrote.

“For a space that produces 9-10 hours of programming a day, I thought they would have made the investment if they moved.”

Other media spy users noted, “I think they wanted a constant look across the country. Hopefully there will be a renewal soon.”

Another user added: ‘I don’t mind that Today is specifically from the news set, but the soft set feels like such a weird mix – it’s too grey.’

Channel Nine moved to studios at the end of 2020 after 60 years of broadcasting from Willoughby.

It comes after Sunrise ushered in a new era last July when Channel Seven officially moved its studios from Sydney’s Martin Place to nearby South Eveleigh.
