Today, the show’s host, Sarah Abo, leaves her fellow co-hosts in hysterics after being caught in a suspicious ‘nose scratch’ during a commercial break.
Sarah Abo was caught by her Today show co-host Karl Stefanovic on Friday morning for a suspicious act during a commercial break.
After the couple promoted the show’s ‘Free Food Friday’ competition, Karl brought up Sarah’s sneaky maneuver that he thought might have gone under the radar.
“Geez, you ran out this morning,” he told his co-host, who sighed in disappointment.
The studio then cut to footage of Sarah scratching the edge of her right nostril.
“It’s not Free Food Friday we were thinking, Sarah,” Karl laughed as he suggested that Sarah was picking her nose.
The new host played along with the cheeky joke as fellow co-hosts Alex Cullen and Brooke Boney laughed.

“I mean, I haven’t had breakfast, what can I say?” Sarah responded, leaving her co-hosts in stitches.
“Keep it in Queensland, that’s what we have for lunch every day,” Karl added.
Later in the show, sportscaster Alex compared Sarah’s nose scratch to a clip from a Seinfeld episode.
“It’s not Free Food Friday we were thinking, Sarah,” Karl laughed as he suggested that Sarah was picking her nose.
The scene he referred to was when the character Jerry Seinfeld was caught picking his nose while in his car.
“We’ve seen a new side of our Sarah this morning, caught on camera, earlier, digging for gold,” Alex said, before showing off the clip.
‘No, no, no, I wasn’t looking for gold. It was a scratch!’ Sara insisted.
Usually, Karl is the recipient of Sarah’s mid-air punches.
The former 60 Minutes reporter replaced Allison Langdon as Today’s new co-host with Karl Stefanovic in 2023
In September, when filling in for former Today presenter Allison Langdon as she recovered from injury, the 36-year-old brutally criticized the TV host for his shocking diet, accusing him of “eating McDonald’s at 2am”.
Sarah did another dig with Karl in July 2022, when the two were talking about Tom Cruise’s 60th birthday.
“I can’t believe I’m 60 years old. That’s amazing,” Karl observed.
He’s about your age, isn’t he, Karl? You look great,’ the former 60 Minutes reporter replied as she placed her hand on her shoulder.
“I’m thrilled to join the wonderful and hard-working team at Today, who manage to inform the nation every morning while having so much fun,” Sarah said of the ad.
