Today show star Dylan Dreyer reveals how a ‘random’ moment at her 2012 wedding to Brian Fichera became her ‘favorite’ memory of the day

Today Show meteorologist Dylan Dreyer reflected on her magical marriage to NBC cameraman Brian Fichera ahead of their 11th anniversary.

The couple married in Boston, Massachusetts, in October 2012, and now share sons Russell, 21 months, Oliver, two, and Calvin, six.

And while weddings take a lot of planning, Dylan, 42, revealed that her favorite moment was one that took her completely by surprise in a recent interview with People.

She talked about the “absolutely perfect” moment when her husband Brian, 37, asked for an unexpected song, explaining that she promptly “tied up” her dress and was “twirled around the dance floor.”

She recounted the “absolutely perfect” moment when her husband asked for an unexpected song and prompted her to “tie up” her dress so she could be “twirled around the dance floor.”

“At the end of our wedding, the DJ asked Brian what song to play last. Brian just randomly said Coldplay’s Viva La Vida,” she told the outlet.

“We have no connection to the song, but it was absolutely perfect. I buttoned up my long dress and he spun me around on the dance floor. It was pure joy, love and happiness.’

Its spontaneity allowed the couple to be present and live in the moment.

“We totally absorbed the last moment of our perfect day!” she explained.

After nearly eleven years together, Dylan has opened up about the secret to a happy marriage.

For her and Brian, having a shared hobby helps them return to their happy place.

“Golf is what we do together. We have a few drinks, we laugh. We remember why we fell in love,” Dylan said TODAY.com. “Then we go home and it’s right back with the family.”

They have three young boys and while it’s challenging, they feel like parenthood has only made their relationship stronger.

“It’s a lot of childhood. It’s like, “Brian, I need to take Oliver to the doctor. I want you to take Calvin to karate. I’ll see you at dinner!” Dylan said.

“I’m not saying it’s had a negative impact on our relationship; it only made us stronger.’

They also emphasize the importance of communication in their relationship.

“My family can hold a grudge. When something is bothering us, we say, “I’ll talk to you later,” and we never discuss why we were upset in the first place,” Dylan explained.

“Brian won’t let me be angry for ten minutes. He says, “Please talk to me about how upset you are so we can have fun again.”

While she worked on camera, Brian worked behind the scenes as a cameraman and technician.

“As he started working more, he went to the Weather Center more often with our friend Todd. The three of us started hanging out together outside of work, building a friendship and bonding,” she wrote on their wedding blog.

“After a few years, we had a little party at Brian’s house that we called the Jammy Jam. At that moment I realized I had completely fallen for him and from that moment on it was history!’
