Today, Extra presenter David Campbell and former 9News foreign correspondent Amelia Adams took the place of Langdon and Stefanovic.

When the show came back on air, Campbell and Adams joked that the outage was an act of sabotage concocted by the regular hosts.

“We’re doing you a favor here and then you pulled the plug on us. So much so that we went to Nine Honey,” Adams joked.

“While we look pretty calm, there are a lot of people behind the scenes at Nine who have been trying really hard to get us back on the air, so we want to thank them for their dedication to getting us back on the air,” Campbell added. ready.

Viewers were quick to vent their frustration on social media.

‘What’s happening @Channel9? No Today Show? 5 minutes of internal ads, now playing a Talking Honey pre-recorded EP?’ one tweeted.

‘@TheTodayShow am I on the wrong channel? Why is 9Honey on my screen?? Did I miss something??? Change channel!!!!’ said another.

“What happened to @TheTodayShow? A minute in the air with noise problems neck minute out of the air,” said a third.

Adams, 39, has just returned to Sydney after four years as Nine’s Senior International Correspondent in Europe and North America.

The journalist was warmly welcomed on Thursday by Stefanovic, who described the Nine Veteran as “one of Australia’s greatest correspondents of all time”.

During Adams’ live coverage from the US Capitol during the January 6 uprising, she won two Kennedy Awards and a Walkley nomination.
