Today on Sky Sports Racing: Oisin Murphy heads to Wolverhampton for smart novice

Multiple champion jockey Oisin Murphy heads to Wolverhampton on Monday evening, riding a potentially bright newcomer for the Godolphin team, live on Sky Sports Racing.

4.55 Wolverhampton – Trio course winners clash

It is an intriguing innovation of the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap (4:55) with three course and distance winners competing against each other in Dunstall Park.

Mudlahim won at this venue in July and while he struggles against the higher mark for Scott Dixon, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he improves again at this venue now.

Another with good form is Touch wood – he hasn’t won for almost two years but has improved of late, while Beauzon has moved from David O’Meara to Ian Williams and is a potential improver.

6.00 Wolverhampton – Nezeeh tries to remain undefeated

Even though he is neutered, Nezeeh still has a lot of potential and looks to win a second race in a row in the Free Tips Daily at Attheraces.com Beginner Bets (6:00) for Saeed bin Suroor.

He won on his debut at Thirsk last month and could face a penalty if he improves that run, but he faces some intriguing rivals.

Shane Gray rides another debut winner at East Bank in April, although he has not been seen since being disappointed by a penalty later that month.

Giorgio M applies to Middleham Park and George Boughey – it cost £78,000 at the Breeze Up Sales and it would be no surprise to see this debutant showing plenty of speed in his first appearance on the racecourse.

7.30 Wolverhampton – Clouds goes in for hat-trick bid

There are 13 runners for the At The Races app Expert Tips Handicap (7:30) but sure Send into the clouds is the one to beat Mollie Phillips for the hat-trick bid.

The Phillips forward has won three of his last four and escaped a penalty for his victory at Brighton a week ago, so he is an obvious candidate.

Of the others, China’s Whisperer will be aiming for a second career win, having achieved his only success at the venue in 2019, while Joseph Parr’s Global Tycoon should run his race.

Watch every race from Wolverhampton on Sky Sports Racing on Monday 25 September.
