Today it tops Sunrise in the TV ratings as the unstoppable MAFS gives Nine’s breakfast show a much-needed boost.
The Today show secured an upset win in the television ratings over Sunrise on Monday.
Channel Nine’s breakfast show, hosted by Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo, drew 200,000 viewers in all five capitals.
Seven’s Sunrise, presented by David Koch and Natalie Barr, trailed behind with 197,000 metropolitan viewers in a rare loss for the longtime market leader.
He received a ratings boost today due to the continued success of Nine’s reality show Married At First Sight, which is dominating prime time.
The controversial social experiment drew 885,000 viewers on Monday. Its total audience, including regional and recovery viewers, is known to exceed two million.

Elsewhere on Monday, Australian Survivor did good business for Channel 10, drawing a respectable 474,000 metropolitan viewers for the struggling network.
The news was not so good for Ten’s comedy show Would I lie to you?
The series of panels presented by Chrissie Swan had a scant audience of 217,000 people in five cities.
On Channel Seven, Home and Away continued its strong ratings this season.
The long-running soap opera managed to attract 496,000 fans in major centers.

Nine won the night with a 32 percent audience share, while Seven came in second with a 25.2 percent share.
Ten finished in third place, a rare event for the embattled commercial station, with an audience share of 17.8 percent.
ABC finished fourth with a share of 16.9 percent.
