Today’s Karl Stefanovic has made his acting debut alongside a star-studded cast for Stan’s Original Series C*A*U*G*H*T.

And the 49-year-old has now revealed what it was like working with American actor and director Sean Penn.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the show’s premiere in Sydney last Wednesday, the TV presenter said it was “amazing” to work with the Hollywood legend.

‘It was amazing. He stood next to the camera and watched me deliver all my lines,” Karl said.

“I actually got a little emotional and was like, ‘holy shit, that’s Sean Penn.'”

Karl then recalled how the actor looked at him jokingly before shaking his head and walking out during filming.

The Nine star also revealed whether he is considering an acting career after his debut.

“I love seeing Australian productions and Kick (Gurry) is a freakish talent comedically and I was happy to be along for the ride,” he said.
