Today, co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager surprised viewers by revealing that they will be releasing their own Christmas song.
Hoda, 59, and Jenna, 42, made the announcement during Monday’s show while informing fans that the festive tune will be performed on Wednesday.
The duo unveiled the cover art for the song, titled A Carefree Christmas, which featured the pair standing side by side in red scarves and Santa hats.
Hoda and Jenna describe their upcoming single as “a way to release the stress that normally comes with the holidays.”

The duo unveiled the cover art for the song, titled A Carefree Christmas, which featured the pair standing side by side in red scarves and Santa hats.
Their unexpected announcement, mid-show, was prompted by the seasonal sound of sleigh bells.
Hoda warned the audience, “That sound is important,” to which Jenna humorously asked, “Is that Santa?”
The pair then broke the news before Hoda jokingly added: ‘People are talking about itand by ‘people’ I mean me and Jenna.”
She went on to say that “the star of the show is not pictured here” while giving a shoutout to their vocal coach Cheryl Porter.
“Cheryl is a person who can teach anyone to sing. She has her own technique.
“She’s like joy personified and she walked us through the steps – let us try to learn,” Hoda added.
Jenna also went on to praise Cheryl, claiming, “It’ll sound good thanks to her.”
She then teased, “We only have one song on the album, but guys, it could easily be the first of many singles.”

Jenna said the singing sensations are hoping to hit the charts as her co-host giggled and added, “If we do that, it will be a Christmas miracle.”
The Today stars emphasized that the “upbeat” song will “make you want to dance around the house.”
During the announcement, Jenna playfully referenced how she first announced their album while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
When Jimmy heard the news, he joked, “Mariah Carey, watch out.”
Jenna told Jimmy, “It’s really going to be something. I hope I can come here and perform it when the time comes.”

The posts have so far racked up more than 1,700 likes and dozens of comments from fans eagerly awaiting the single’s release.
