Toby hosts Heart Dance Breakfast weekdays from 7am to 10am and Heart’s Club Classics on Friday nights from 7pm to 11pm.
One unimpressed follower wrote: “Toby Anstis thinks he’s better than everyone else, so he calls the police so he can get blue lighted in the studio.”
While another added: “Is there no driver?”
Toby angrily replied: ‘It wasn’t anything like that, it was pitch black with no power and a female passenger being bullied, while we were all stuck on a tube. How about you think before you tweet all your crap!’
Caught: After taking to Twitter to tell his listeners he was calling the emergency services because of an “aggressive passenger” and that he might be late for his show, a follower accused him of “wanting to blue light the studio” .
The TV personality claimed the problem occurred due to a signaling problem with trainmasters “struggling to wake up” an engineer.
Several subway lines suffered major delays on Tuesday after temperatures dipped to just above freezing.
MailOnline has contacted London Police and TFL for comment.
Speaking to his 41,700 Instagram followers from a dark train, Toby said: “Good morning, now I’m stuck on a subway, I’ve been here for 30 minutes, about 20 meters from another station where I could have jumped on another train.”
“But apparently they can’t get an engineer to fix the signal and now that all the lines have been cut, it’s freezing cold.
Speaking: The DJ, 52, who was stuck on the ‘frozen’ train for over an hour, responded by saying: ‘It wasn’t anything like that, it was pitch dark with no power and a female passenger being bullied
‘Thank you TFL for making life so wonderful at 7am! Sorry Heart Dance listeners, I’ll be a little late.
He also went on a Twitter rant to express his frustration over the delays, initially writing at 6:08am: “Currently stuck on a train on the #piccadillyline standing for 15 minutes so far.”
‘No announcement of what’s going on, usually bad communication from @tfl and the driver?! What the hell is going on?! We all have jobs to get to! Apologies to @heartdance listeners if I’m late.
And then he wrote: ‘NO service on #piccadillyline hello! @tfl the train hasn’t moved for 20 minutes!!! Can’t you hear what the driver is saying?!!’
When TFL responded to his tweets, Toby added: “Check your screens and info, you sat here for over 20 minutes and can’t get off?!”
And then: ‘Please @tfl can you let the train into Barons Court so we can take another line? Pathetic service!!’

He received another response from Transport For London, to which he replied: ‘It’s having an impact on everyone! And simply because you can’t get an engineer to fix the signal!’
Toby then tweeted: “Good morning @heartdance fam due to @tfl keeping us stuck on a tube train on the #piccadillyline in London I can’t be there for the start of my 7am radio show! Excited!! Apparently they’re trying to wake up an engineer to fix a signal. You couldn’t make that up! #London’.
Speaking directly to the shuttle operators on social media once again, Toby explained: “I heard they’re still trying to wake up an engineer to fix the damn signal, while we’re all stuck on a train.” And now all the lights have gone out?!! I’ll be reporting this and wanting compensation!’
Standing still: He took to Twitter to express his frustration at the delays, initially writing at 6:08am: “Currently stuck on a train on the #piccadillyline standing still for 15 minutes so far.”
Shortly after, he wrote: ‘Please @tfl get this fucking train moving! The lights are off and it’s freezing cold! This is now totally unacceptable!
And then: ‘Going up for an hour stuck! On a frozen and powerless underground train in London. It’s -3, no electricity, no heat, no ads, absolutely inexcusable from @tfl!’
So Toby went a step further to tag the Metropolitan Police. “Ok now I’m serious @tfl,” Toby wrote.
We are freezing on this train. Caught between Hammersmith and Barons Ct, you have to get us out, and fast. I am also calling the police as now there are aggressive people causing trouble. @metpoliceuk @tfl’.
He then went on to update fans shortly after, telling them that he would be live on Heart Dance at 8 a.m.
