Fans were left furious at TNT Sports as Tuesday’s Champions League coverage suffered a number of technical issues.
The rebranding of BT Sport is the British broadcaster of Europe’s premier competition this season.
However, things did not go smoothly during the display of Manchester United’s thrilling 1-0 win over Copenhagen.
At several points in their coverage, a crackling sound could be heard – it sounded like it was the producers talking into the earpieces of the on-screen talent – causing fans to take to social media to express their frustration.
“What is going on with the sound on TNT,” one person wrote, while another said the “sound problems are ridiculous all night long.”

Another irate viewer wrote: “Someone is getting fired from the TNT sound team tomorrow.”
Another joked that they had “given students a chance to do it.”
Poor sound quality wasn’t the only problem on the night, as pundit Paul Scholes’ microphone cut out during the build-up to the match.
Presenter Laura Woods handled it well, while Scholes pretended to throw away the faulty microphone.
The same problem arose when the team tried to interview United manager Erik ten Hag after the match, with fans also complaining that the audio was out of sync with the footage.
Fortunately for Manchester United, they ultimately had more to smile about than TNT Sports’ sound team after a crucial 1-0 win.
That result seemed to be in real jeopardy when Scott McTominay was awarded a penalty in the 95th minute.
Andre Onana, who has been panned in this tournament so far this season after mistakes against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, stepped up as the man of the moment to save the penalty and secure United’s first win of the 2023/24 group stage .
Onana told CBS: ‘For me, for the club, for the team it was important. It was an important win for us, a difficult game against a very good team.
“The most important thing today was to win, so I’m happy with the win, but we have to move on.”
The 27-year-old explained his feelings at the time, saying: ‘Be myself, be calm and try to deal with the pressure. Old Trafford is not having an easy time for the opponent. I made myself bigger and decided to go to the left.”
The focus now turns to Sunday’s delicious match against neighbors Manchester City in the first derby between the teams this season.
