T.J. Holmes reveals fellow plane passenger accused him of STEALING her phone while he was traveling with girlfriend Amy Robach

TJ Holmes has revealed that a fellow passenger accused him of stealing her cell phone while on a flight with Amy Robach.

While the couple recently traveled back to Los Angeles from Turks and Caicos, former GMA3 hosts TJ, 46, and Amy, 51, experienced a tense situation when someone else on board claimed he had taken her phone.

He said the woman “point-blank accused” him of trying to run away with the device out “in front of the entire plane,” which made him extremely uncomfortable – especially since she later found it on her seat.

He and Amy opened up about the awkward incident during a recent episode of their podcast: Amy & TJ.

“I was recently accused of stealing someone’s cell phone during a flight,” the journalist said.

‘The woman was in seat 1F, I was in seat 5C. I was using the front bathroom, which was right next to the cockpit, and I came out and the flight attendant was standing there with this little lady – she has very short, white, dirty blonde hair.

“She says, ‘Did you see a phone there?’ I turned around and said, ‘No, I didn’t see anything.’

He said the woman then “stepped toward him and gestured as if she was about to search him.”

‘She says, “Oh, you haven’t got it?” For the plane, [she] flat out accuses me of taking her phone,” he continued.

“Right now she’s a little lady, so I basically crawl – I crouch down, I put my hands on my knees and I get down to her level, and I say, ‘Ma’am, are you telling me I took your phone?’ And then she says, “Oh no, but it was in there.”‘

TJ remembered returning to his seat and telling Amy what happened.

“Oh, you were angry,” she recalled.

An irate TJ then decided to ‘sit on the armrest’ so he could watch the situation unfold a few rows in front of him.

And ‘sure enough,’ he said, ‘a little while later the woman found her phone somewhere in her chair.

“Now she turns to me, mortified, and shouts across the five rows: ‘I’m so sorry,'” the ex-news presenter revealed, as Amy interjected: “Sorry just isn’t enough at that moment.”

TJ explained that throughout their relationship, Amy “witnessed a black man going through the same scenarios but being treated very differently.”

‘I had to be calm. “If there hadn’t been more people around, I don’t think I would have bowed out or been as assertive as I am,” he added.

‘Because I wouldn’t have a witness [to say] that I wasn’t aggressive towards her or whatever it may be. But that was a wild flying experience.’

The couple said the flight attendant ‘apologized profusely’ and told them that the lady ‘had been difficult’.

“That’s something only certain people are exposed to,” Amy concluded.

Plus, Amy once insisted that TJ was like a “brother” to her — and when it came to light that they had secretly become involved in a behind-the-scenes romance in late 2022, millions of people around the world were left behind. baffled.
