Tina Malone heartbreakingly reveals her husband Paul took his own life at the park opposite their home and says she is ‘totally broken’ over his death

Tina Malone took to her Twitter page on Monday to share devastating details about the death of her late husband Paul Chase, who committed suicide earlier this year.

The 61-year-old former soap star says she is “completely devastated” by his passing as she deals with the “pain and grief” she has felt in the months following his death.

Tina told in a series of tweets on her page how Paul left their house at 4pm and committed suicide in the park opposite their Cheshire home.

The message read: ’17 weeks ago at 4pm my husband left his home and committed suicide in the park across from our house.

‘I am completely devastated, the pain and sorrow are every day, he fought for his country for more than years! Yet almost no one donated to our charity. He was a good man’.

Tina set up the page Paul’s Flame to raise money for people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, which her partner developed after serving in the military.

The page description reads: ‘I have set up a charity to create a legacy for my husband Paul Anthony Chase Malone, who committed suicide on March 13th of this year.

‘After suffering from chronic PTSD for many years, having served for over a decade in the 22nd Cheshire Regiment in Calgary, Northern Ireland, the Falklands, Cyprus, Iraq and Afghanistan…

‘Struggled with debt, unemployment, his depression manifested itself in alcohol and drug abuse, self harm! He felt lost, useless, a burden, hopeless and culminated in his suicide. Leaving myself and our ten year old daughter devastated, heartbroken and overwhelmingly sad.

‘We want to create a fund that will support individuals and small charities in crisis. A board of twelve trustees will distribute the funds to those who need it, particularly those with mental health problems…

‘Veterans, single parents, working families struggling. The more money we raise, the more people we can help! Please donate, any amount helps. Tina Malone x’

Tina said she wanted to raise £10,000 for the charity and so far she has received £450 in donations.

The Shameless actress expressed her anger that she had not received more donations and assured her followers that the money would go to “people in crisis.”

Tina added that she planned to get out of the house and walk her dog, but admitted she feels “anxious” when she leaves the house.

She said: ‘I wanted to raise £10,000! For people in crisis, not for me or Flame! What’s £10 per person? People are raising £33M, £50,000. I can’t even raise £5,000.

Tina added: ‘I better get out of here or I’m going to say things I shouldn’t say… Am I missing something? It just makes me wonder what the point of it all is.’

She later apologized for her tirade, saying: “Thanks for all your comments, I’m sorry if I sounded aggressive last night, I’m just so sad. Really heartbreaking, 15 years together. I miss him so much.

“Thank you for your donation, I am truly touched.”

Tina added that she had planned to get out of the house and walk her dog, but she admitted she feels “anxious” when she leaves the house.

Tina recently admitted that Paul’s death did not come as a shock, as she saw how badly his mental health had been affected by his time in prison.

She said he turned to “drink, drugs and painkillers” to numb the pain.

Tina also said that the house still looks exactly the same as it did when Paul died four months ago and that she has washed and ironed all his clothes.

Recalling his funeral, Tina added: “After the funeral, we partied until late. We ate all of Paul’s favorite foods and I was the first one on the dance floor because, well, it was just Paul and me.”

Tina added that the grief over the loss of Paul is still great and that she doesn’t think she will ever love a man like him again.

She said, ‘I have never loved another man and I never will, like I love Paul. I want to be with him and I will be with him one day.’

The actress said she recently saw an elderly couple holding hands near her house and thought she would never see anything like it again.

The soap star said an army officer told her the military isn’t doing enough to help soldiers adjust to civilian life, noting that other armies give ex-soldiers “a pot of money” they can use to retrain or set up their own businesses.

Speaking to Closer magazine, Tina told how she and her daughter took a barbecue to Paul’s grave to celebrate his 42nd birthday in late May (2013 photo)

Tina recently launched Paul’s Flame with her late husband’s sister, a charity that aims to help people with cash payments in desperate times.

Tina and Paul met at a bootcamp event where he was a personal trainer, after she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother.

But their relationship was troubled in 2017 because Tina was arrested and cautioned for cocaine possession. She was even fired from a pantomime. Paul lost his job as a carer for violent teenagers.

The couple were on the verge of bankruptcy and Tina says his mental health deteriorated during this time. He used prescription drugs and cocaine to cope, before attempting suicide.

He was admitted to a psychiatric institution and received help from a veterans organization, but Tina said he suffered from mood swings.

The couple had one daughter together, Flame, now 11, whom Tina gave birth to in 2013 at age 50 after IVF (pictured together in 2014)
