Timothee Chalamet takes home the Visionary Tribute award for Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown alongside his co-star Monica Barbaro

Timothee Chalamet looked in good spirits as he took home the Visionary Tribute Award at the Gotham Film Awards at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on Monday.

The actor, 28, won the award for A Complete Unknown, a biopic of Bob Dylan in which he plays the singer alongside co-stars Monica Barbaro, Edward Norton and Elle Fanning.

Timothee, who also produced the upcoming film, was joined at the event by his co-star Monica, who plays Bob’s former partner and folk singer Joan Baez.

The movie star looked dapper in a black blazer and matching trousers, which he wore with a white and pink striped shirt.

Monica, 34, looked glamorous in a strapless white sheer floral print dress with a sweetheart neckline.

Actors Elle Fanning and Boyd Holbrook were also present at the ceremony along with director James Mangold.

It comes after Timothee’s co-stars revealed the extreme lengths he went to on the set of A Complete Unknown as he put his entire focus on playing the legendary folk artist.

He was ruthless,” Fight Club actor Edward, 55, said of Timothée’s method acting.

‘No visitors, no friends, no representatives, nothing. “Nobody’s coming near us while we’re doing this.”

“We’re trying to do the best we can with something that is so totemic and sacred to many people,” Edward added. Rolling stone.

“And I couldn’t agree more – it was like, we can’t have a fucking audience for this.

“We have to believe as best we can. And he was right to be so protective.”

Monica, 34, shared her experiences, saying she was still able to communicate with Timothée between takes, but he remained “in his own world.”

Timothee’s co-stars previously revealed the extreme lengths he went to on the set of A Complete Unknown, as he turned his entire focus to playing the legendary folk artist.

‘We said ‘hello’ and gave each other a hug. I was like, “I just saw Dune!”

‘[But Timothée did stay] in his own world [on set] in a way that I think Bob often was.

“And it was actually very conducive to the dynamic between Bob and Joan.”

The film’s title is recognizable from Bob’s career-changing rock song, Like a Rolling Stone.

The real Dylan, 83, serves as the film’s executive producer, provided notes on the script and had several meetings with Mangold.

A source previously said: ‘There is a lot of pressure to get it right. Bob Dylan fans are insane and will tear him apart [Timothée] apart if he’s wrong.’

Timothée recently revealed that he hasn’t actually had any face time with Bob, despite playing the singer-songwriter.

“I never met him,” he told Apple Music 1’s The Zane Lowe Show. ‘He has withdrawn a bit from the public eye.

“I’ve never met him… I’ve seen him live.”

Timothée added, “He approved the script, he made changes to the script, there are lines of his in the script that I liked.”

A Complete Unknown is scheduled for release in the United States on December 25.
