Timberwolves’ superstar Anthony Edwards leaves game with scary ankle injury and gruesome scream

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was rushed to the locker room after leaving Friday’s game early with a terrifying ankle injury during the first quarter against the Chicago Bulls.

Edwards appeared to land badly on his ankle after jumping up to pass the ball and immediately collapsed on the court clutching his right ankle with just under four minutes left in the first quarter.

The 21-year-old let out a terrifying scream that was heard echoing throughout the arena.

Edwards entered the night averaging 25.0 points on 46.0 percent shooting in his third NBA season.

He has been instrumental in Minnesota securing a 35-35 record heading into tonight’s game, especially in the absence of superstar forward Karl Anthony-Towns, who has missed months of this season after suffering a hamstring injury. hamstring

Edwards was taken to the locker room with members of the Timberwolves organization.

They entered the night tied with the Dallas Mavericks for seventh place in the NBA Western conference.

Despite not seeing Edwards in the early minutes of the game, the Timberwolves have been able to push their game into double overtime at this point.

Edwards received well wishes from two of his former teammates D’Angelo Russell and Jared Vanderbilt, who played for the Timberwolves until they were traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.

Both players tweeted prayer emojis with Russell also saying ‘1’ and Vanderbilt saying ‘A1′ in reference to Edwards’ jersey number.

Russell and Vanderbilt posted the tweets just hours before they were due to take on the Dallas Mavericks.

There hasn’t yet been an update on the condition of Edwards’ ankle.
