Tim Walz’s brother warns Democratic VP hopeful ‘is not the type of character’ you want in the White House: ‘The stories I could tell’

Tim Walz has an estranged brother who says the Minnesota governor is “not the type of person you want making decisions about your future.”

Minnesota’s far-left leader has been doing relatively well in the polls since joining forces with Kamala Harris, but his brother Jeff Walz may be more active in the campaign for Donald Trump.

Jeff Walz, 67, drew attention with a post he wrote in May 2023 indicting Trump for payments to porn star Stormy Daniels by a Manhattan grand jury.

He wrote: ‘We have just become a third world banana republic’.

The comments section recently exploded after Walz’s 60-year-old brother stepped down from the vice presidency and his comments were not well received by the left-wing Minnesota politician.

One commenter wrote under the post on Friday that he had to have “a talk” with his brother about the situation.

Jeff Walz responded, “Haven’t spoken to him in eight years. I’m 100% against all of his ideology. My family was not notified that he was selected and had no security for days afterward.”

Another commentator seized the opportunity, asking him to “get on stage with President Trump and support him,” saying it would “help MAGA” and “save this country.”

“I’ve thought about doing something like this for a long time,” Walz explained. “I’m torn between that and keeping my family out of it.”

Federal Elections Commission records show that the older Walz brother has made donations to Trump in the past.

He then raised the possibility of more gossip about a man who has already distorted the truth about his military service and fertility treatments, and who also drove under the influence in his younger years.

“The stories I could tell,” he said. “Not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.”

He also admitted that he and his brother have not spoken in eight years, although he did not elaborate on the reason.

Walz’s brother said he hasn’t spoken to the Democrat in eight years and is “100% against all of his ideologies.”

Like his brother, Walz has worked as a teacher in the past and has even been an assistant principal.

Jeff Walz has told reporters who approached him after the reports that he does not want to give interviews.

The story is about Barack Obama’s half-brother Malik, who often spoke out against his brother’s policies.

He is not the first family member of this presidential candidate to disown someone because of his or her ideology.

Earlier this week, an exclusive report from DailyMail.com revealed that Kamala Harris’ father Donald owns a home less than a mile from Harris’ West Wing office, but he has never visited the house.

Donald has deliberately kept his distance, determined to stay away from what he describes as the “political brouhaha” surrounding his daughter, whose controversial comments he once criticised as “a parody”.

Harris previously described their relationship as “not close.”

Her father, who recently turned 86, is a former economics professor whose political views do little to convince Democratic critics that Kamala does not support far-left views.

The story recalls Barack Obama’s half-brother, Malik, who often spoke out against his brother’s policies.

His aggressive Marxist views, which emerged in the 1960s, make him a lightning rod for Republican attacks.

The rift between them dates back to Kamala’s early childhood.

In 2018, Donald made his only public intervention into his daughter’s political career to date, harshly reprimanding her for her comments about marijuana.

While promoting her memoir, the then-senator dismissed the notion that she was against legalizing marijuana, saying in a podcast interview, “That’s not true. And look, I joke about it, half-jokingly — half my family is from Jamaica, are you serious?”

That “half of her family” is her father’s side and Professor Harris did not appreciate the reference to the stereotype of a marijuana smoker.

In a statement to a Jamaican news outlet, he raged: “My dearly departed grandmothers, as well as my late parents, must now be turning in their graves. On behalf of myself and my immediate Jamaican family, we wish to categorically distance ourselves from this parody.”

There was no public reaction from his daughter or her campaign team. But the family was shocked. Prof Harris was soon forced to walk back his anger.

In a statement to Politico, he said: “I have decided to stay out of any political hoopla and not do any interviews with the media.”

Kamala’s true feelings for her father remain murky. In 2021, the vice president told the Washington Post that they were on “good terms.”

Two years later, a statement to the San Francisco Weekly was more nuanced. “My dad is a good guy, but we’re not close,” she said.
