Tim Walz drinks Diet Mountain Dew and watches YouTube with Stephen Colbert on US election-eve appearance
Tim Walz drank Diet Mountain Dew and watched restoration videos on YouTube with Stephen Colbert during a TV appearance the night before the election.
The vice president hopeful was interviewed for this segment at a coffee shop in Philadelphia.
During the relaxed affair, the two played a game of paper football while talking about Walz and Kamala Harris’ plans for an “opportunity economy,” in yet another network crush on Democrats.
Several cameos from Harris, Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine were criticized for violating the equal time rule, which states that parties should receive the same amount of airtime after no Republicans were invited to the hit NBC show.

The Minnesota governor sat down with Colbert for a friendly 11-minute interview in which he discussed the highs and lows of being on the campaign trail.
Colbert brought up Walz’s military service, how he met his wife of 30 years and complimented his use of “Midwest dad insults.”
Walz called his opponents a “knucklehead,” a “dips**t” and a “clown.”
“It’s not a Minnesotan’s job to offend or bully people,” Walz said. “In each of those cases, I made an observation about the person.”
In an effort to demonstrate his father’s credentials, the two then watched a YouTube video of the restoration of a World War II lighter.
In the light-hearted interview, Colbert ultimately asked Walz to explain his plans for an “opportunity economy” using car metaphors.
‘So your care is going a bit more smoothly. It’s still ongoing, but there are things you can do,” Walz said. “If it’s an older vehicle, you can have a carburetor cleaned.
‘You could invest the money in a very important piece, for example that the carburetor comes from the middle class.

“If you invest a little in that carburetor, the whole vehicle will run better.”
Colbert concluded by inviting Walz to give a final rallying cry for Harris, using only football metaphors.
However, the friendly interview has only fueled accusations of media bias in favor of Democrats.
“CBS will intentionally violate the FCC’s ‘Equal Time Rule’ tonight with a guest appearance from Tim Walz on the Stephen Colbert show,” someone wrote on X.
“They and all network partners that air the show should lose their broadcast licenses. It is deliberately too late to give other candidates the same amount of time.’
But she wasn’t the only Democrat to appear: Virginia Senator Kaine also starred in a skit alongside John Mulaney and Pete Davidson.
NBC was accused of favoritism and Donald Trump then gave Donald Trump two minutes of free airtime during prime time sporting events on Sunday nights after the Peacock Network was accused of giving his opponent special treatment.
The interview is part of the Democratic media blitz that also saw Kamala Harris appear on SNL
