He said that part of what made his musicals Matilda and Groundhog Day so successful was that they were both based on films that explored philosophical ideas.

‘Groundhog Day has an incredible foundation: what is the meaning of life? To change the world, you need to change the way you look at the world,’ he said.

Earlier this year, Tim revealed how he fulfilled his “lifelong dream” of working with Emma Thompson on the next Matilda movie.
