Tim McGraw credits his wife of 27 years Faith Hill for keeping his life on track: ‘I would have died or ran my career into the ground’
Tim McGraw thanks his wife Faith Hill for helping her survive.
The country crooner, 55, who was honored Wednesday at the 16th Annual ACM Honors, has spoken openly about one of the issues that could have gotten in his way.
“I guarantee you, if I hadn’t married Faith at age 29,” he said Zane Lowe on Apple Music podcast ahead of Friday’s release of his new album Standing Room Only.
“A, I probably would have wrecked my career and B, I would have died or somehow wrecked my career.
“It never would have been where it is today.”

The Grammy winner got sober in 2008, but admits his wife had to put up with his wild ways for a while because I was kind of sneaky about it, but the Breathe artist put her foot down as their three daughters grew up.
“When the kids got old enough to notice things, she finally said, ‘You’ve got to figure this out.'”
Faith, 55, showed her support on social media by posting a handsome photo of the hitmaker, writing: ‘After all this time and so many albums you never cease to amaze me.’
“You are an absolute master of your art,” she continued, “in every way. Congratulations!!!!!! My darling. We are so proud of you ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️’
Tim now revealed that he and Faith are empty nesters, “we’re kind of on our second honeymoon” and enjoying it.
The couple are parents to Gracie, 26, Maggie, 25, and Audrey, 21.
The Tennessee native has a song called Hello Whiskey on his new album, which he said was “very personal” to him, even though he didn’t write it.
“There’s an honesty to it,” he said.
Sober: Tim has been sober since 2008 and said his wife put up with his “wild years” for a while. “When the kids got old enough to notice things, she finally said, ‘You need to figure this out'”

Tim and his band gave fans a taste with a performance by Hold it on Good morning America.
He said that after the pandemic, I “really wanted some life-affirming songs, songs that were positive and songs that had a good message about life and being a better person.”
The Humble and Kind singer told Zane that paying attention to exercise and staying in shape is “therapy for me.” ‘
“I try not to miss a day,” he explained.
“It clears my mind and I actually get a lot of musical ideas, stage ideas, professional ideas, just family ideas, when I’m working out.”
When on the road, the fit musician continues his intensive training regimen and is accompanied by his bandmates.
“It’s going to be like a therapy session for all of us,” because everyone shares their own issues.
“We always say that on the days when we can’t train… we feel like our show isn’t that good,” he said.
