Tilly Ramsay follows in her famous father Gordon’s footsteps as the proud dad takes her shopping to buy her first chef’s uniform for culinary school

She’s watched her father cook on TV for decades and now Tilly Ramsay is following in his footsteps and heading to culinary school.

The 22-year-old took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that Gordon had taken her to buy her first chef’s uniform and all the supplies she needed so she could begin her training.

Tilly shared a photo of herself wearing a white chef’s jacket and trying on several pairs of black clogs, enthusiastically saying she was ‘so excited for this next chapter’.

She wrote: ‘Yesterday I went looking for a completely different kind of uniform… @gordangram took me to buy my first chef uniforms as I’m going to chef school in September!!

“I’m so excited for this next chapter and daddy and I had the most exciting day getting all my uniform and gear. P.S. I think this look is kind of a vibe.”

For Tilly, it was a logical next step to go to a chef’s training. She had already shown that she had an affinity for cooking and had built an impressive career as a budding chef.

Her famous father Gordon, 57, is best known for series such as Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, Hell’s Kitchen, Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip and Kitchen Nightmares.

And because Tilly shows that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, she has participated in several cooking shows and even published her own cookbook when she was only 15.

In 2015, she started her own cooking show on CBBC, called Matilda And The Ramsay Bunch. The show followed her as she prepared dishes for her family during the holidays. The show ran until 2019.

She also appeared alongside Gordon on This Morning in a cooking segment called Big Chef Little Chef and was a judge on the ninth series of MasterChef Junior with her father.

She also competed in the second series of Celebrity MasterChef Australia, finishing in second place.

In 2021, Tilly swapped the kitchen for the dance floor when she took part in Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin.

The young lady has 1.2 million followers on Instagram and already has experience with a chef’s training. She was closely involved with The Gordon Ramsay Academy, owned by her father. There she teaches, for example, how to make overnight oats.

In January, Deadline reported that she had landed her own show on Amazon Prime, called Dish It Out. In the show, she receives a mysterious box of ingredients from chefs in each episode, which she must then use to create a recipe.

Speaking about her passion for cooking in March, Tilly admitted that Gordon had been a huge inspiration to her to pursue a career in hospitality.

She told PEOPLE: ‘I remember watching him working in the kitchen at home, because he filmed quite a bit in there.

“And then he slowly started handing me the whisk or the spoon and saying, ‘You need to measure something.’”

‘I remember having such a good time with him there. And at that moment I thought, “Wow, I really want to be like you someday.”‘

She said this about their bond: “We’re constantly sending each other new recipes on Instagram that we see and discussing them.”

Tilly’s next educational chapter takes place just weeks after she celebrated her university graduation in late July.

She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Nottingham.

And on her big day she was joined by her proud parents Gordon and Tana and her older sister Holly to celebrate her achievement.

Gordon posted on Instagram waxing lyrical about himself as ‘the luckiest dad in the world’, sharing photos of Tilly in her traditional black dress and cap.

In the caption, the celebrity chef enthused: ‘She’s Done it! I can’t express enough how proud we are of you honestly with everything you’ve been through and to see you graduate today with a Psychology BSc makes me the happiest dad in the world congratulations darling well done @tillyramsay’.

David Beckham, a close friend of the Ramsays, congratulated Tilly in the comments, writing: ‘Well done Tilly, we are so proud ‘.

And Holly, 24, took to her Instagram Stories to celebrate her sister’s hard work paying off, sharing a sweet photo of Tilly with the caption: “The most beautiful graduate. So incredibly proud of you.”
