An Atlanta-based TikTok creator has sparked a fierce online debate after posting video of a friend’s birthday dinner descending into chaos as he refuses to split the $4,600 bill evenly.
TikToker Viccgotti, who has 1.4 million followers, can be seen animatedly claiming that he shouldn’t share his friend’s huge meal bill, instead he should only pay for what he ate.
But the woman celebrating her birthday suggests she expects her friends to provide her meal too — telling Vicgotti, “It’s my goddamn birthday, why the hell would I have to pay for anything on my birthday?”
“Why should I pay for something I didn’t buy?” he responds.
The video, which has been liked nearly a million times in 24 hours, shows the group making a scene at the fancy restaurant as Viccgotti points out everyone else’s expensive orders. It is unclear what he himself ordered.
The woman celebrating her birthday says to Vicgotti, “It’s my fucking birthday, why the hell should I pay anything on my birthday?”
‘I’m not splitting the bill shawty, that’s crazy! You expect us to split the bill!’ he shouts.
A woman, dressed in a vibrant pink suit, said, “We’ll work it out together and split the bill.” Period of time!’
However, another disagreed and got up and said, ‘You’ve got lamb chops, you’ve got steak, look what they’ve got and they’re talking about splitting the bill. You order way too much and then want to split the bill,’ he explained.
In a follow-up post, Viccgotti revealed that he and his boyfriend, whom he’s known since third grade, are sadly no longer on friendly terms.
He explained the aftermath in another video, saying, “We ended up calling the waiter and I told him, ‘don’t share anything for me, they can split if they want, but that’s not what we’re here for’.”
Viewers of the video were evenly split on the right course of action.
“I’m never going to argue about splitting a bill. I’m just going to order MY food & pay tip, contribute what I want to the birthday person and leave a user comment.

“When I go out, my bill is usually the most expensive and I always pay myself,” wrote another.
However, some users focused on the general behavior in a fancy restaurant.
“The yelling in a fancy restaurant hurts me,” one viewer commented.
“You guys are not ashamed to shout about the bill like that,” wrote another.
While another agreed that the bill should have been pre-approved, “you all should have had that established before we sat down.”
