Cheating boyfriends (and girlfriends) are caught online in a TikTok trend of “loyalty testing,” otherwise known as honey trapping.
The global trend sees suspicious people seeking the help of social media users to see if their partners would be tempted to cheat if approached by someone who is flirty.
Results of the loyal tests, including screengraps of the illegal messages, are often shared online.
And the trend is becoming more common, reportedly reaching 2,000 views every minute.
Depressingly, honey catchers (the women and men who were asked to “test” people’s partners by flirting with them) have a pretty high success rate.

He has shared some results of his ‘honey catch’ online, showing that when he contacts some women to flirt, sometimes they will pretend to be single
A male “honey catcher” from the UK is TikToker Dan Ford, who slips into unsuspecting girlfriends’ DMs and tempts them to cheat.
He has shared a number of videos on his channel explaining how his experimental “loyalty tests” went.
According to Dan, he is regularly approached by: suspicious boyfriends who want him to contact their girlfriends and flirt with them to see if they respond.
They often do: Indeed, his success rate seems alarmingly high, with many women seemingly responding to his advances.
So much so that in a recent video, Dan made fun of boyfriends who were convinced their girlfriends would never cheat on her.
Dan claims men told him, “My girl would never cheat on me. She passes your loyalty test.”
In the following clip, he shares several screenshots of successful “honey traps” he managed to pull off, with the unsuspecting girlfriend completely falling for his charm.
Other videos on Dan’s TikTok channel tell the stories of how he tricked women and exposed them as cheaters, or people who at least have the intent to cheat.
In his most recent loyalty test, he claims to have caught a married woman after the woman’s husband contacted him.
The man said his wife had become distant and less interested in him in recent months. So he asked Dan to flirt with the woman to see if she might want to cheat.
Unfortunately for the man, his wife took the bait and immediately flirted back with Dan.
She even denied being married when the honey catcher asked if she was single.

The extent of online honey trapping was revealed in a recent All 4 documentary – Untold: Cheat Detectives, presented by Kiss FM Breakfast host Daisy Maskell.
In it, she discovered how lucrative the trend can be for those who choose to charge for the service, and for those who use the popular content to increase their following.
While many will run loyal tests in exchange for being able to share posts in their own content and increase their audience, some will charge a hefty fee.
According to Daisy: ‘There are people who make £1,400 a week.
‘Many honey collectors… don’t charge their customers at all, but do it for the content.
“If they’re signed up to TikTok’s creators’ fund, they get about £30 per million views, but the real goal is to get enough followers to be seen as an influencer.
“Top influencers can literally get over a million pounds for a single sponsored post.”
