TikTok star Millie Ford warns other influencers they ‘can’t be making content at age 50’ – after turning to acting and landing Home and Away gig

Millie Ford has built a career on social media.

But the TikTok star says she can no longer rely on the internet for her livelihood once she reaches middle age, and warns other influencers to take to the internet as well.

The 27-year-old, who is now pursuing an acting career, tells this week’s issue Stellar Magazine that online fame is fleeting.

“I’m so grateful for the platform I’ve been given, but it’s also so unpredictable,” Millie told the publication.

“We can’t all keep creating content until we’re 50. That’s fine if you do, but it’s not going to be the case for everyone.”

“We don’t need to be pigeonholed by making videos. I think, what else can I do? We don’t know the future of social media.”

She continued, “Honestly, when someone asks me what I do, I don’t know where to start. I like to call myself a creative person in general because apart from acting and singing or whatever, I’m full of ideas. My mind is constantly daydreaming.”

Millie has made the transition to acting and made her debut in Home And Away in February.

The Sydney internet star landed a cameo role in the hit Channel 7 soap opera and made her Summer Bay debut.

She played the role of an influencer named Montana, which didn’t make much of a difference to her own fame as she posted viral parody videos on TikTok.

Millie has found huge success with her stunning impersonations of everyday Australian teachers, parents and shop assistants, and now has 1.5 million followers on the platform.

Now she has taken up acting and has landed a role in the hugely popular soap opera, after previously playing a school librarian in the Australian TV series Bump.

During Millie’s cameo, her character Montana complains to Rose Delaney (Kirsty Marillier) about having to do community service.

Following her Home And Away debut, Millie raved that regular actors Justin, Kirsty and Kyle Shilling, who plays Mali Hudson, were ‘amazing’ to work with.

“I was just a sponge watching their work and everything happened very quickly,” she said 7news.

“Although I am so grateful for the platform I have been given, it is just so unpredictable,” Millie said. “We can’t all be creating content until we are 50.”

‘They also made sure that I didn’t feel insecure, and I think that’s really important because it just shows on camera.

‘We were laughing so hard that we could hardly contain ourselves in front of the camera.’

Millie also enthusiastically posted photos and videos of her scenes on social media, calling the project a “dream come true.”

The social media star has been passionate about acting since she was a child, when she participated in school plays, and now she aspires to make it her career.

Millie has secured an acting agent and creative representative and hopes to secure more comedy roles in the future.

The glamazon previously worked in social media and marketing before finding viral fame, and admits she never thought TikTok could become a career.

She told Ny Breaking Australia in 2021: ‘I’m so grateful to have had a platform to share my creativity and make people laugh. The support from my audience has been insane.’
