TikTok star Mercedes White shares agony after son, 2, died of CARDIAC ARREST while being rushed to hospital after falling ill

A TikTok star has shared her anguish after her beloved two-year-old son died of cardiac arrest earlier this month.

Mercedes White took to Facebook after the death of her son Wesley, writing, “It was him for me. I only wanted one baby… and now he’s gone. I don’t know how to process this. He’s been sleeping with us since the day we brought him home,

White, from Louisiana, continued: “I hugged him every night. I keep waiting for his feet to kick me in the back.

“Little pieces of him are all over our house, but he will never be here again. I thought I had more time with him. I wanted to be better for him.

The only son of prominent TikTok book critic Mercedes White died on November 10, and the mother has provided new details about the sudden death in a series of social media posts

‘He deserved more than this. Nothing feels right, my baby is gone. Hug your little ones a little tighter for me.”

The grieving mother said Wesley died after falling ill and then going into cardiac arrest while being rushed to hospital. No further details about his condition and death have been shared.

White rose to fame as a “booktoker,” who shares book news and reviews of novels she likes, crediting the trend with saving the publishing industry and launching careers.

In another, the content creator – whose handle is @bookclubwannabe – lamented the loss of her “only” child and recalled how he had “slept with (her and her husband) since the day we brought him home.”

White offered little else and had never previously mentioned that her son suffered from congenital heart problems. She buried him on November 17, a report showed, after raising more than $41,000 for his funeral.

My heart is broken beyond belief. Wesley was the best baby anyone could ask for. To the Booktok community…. I don’t deserve any of you. I started this account three months ago because I was a SAHM and I had no friends and just wanted to talk about books. It’s funny how small decisions in our lives affect our future. the support from all of you…. I have no words. I don’t know how to proceed from here. I wish there was a rule book about grief. I’m incredibly angry, I’m confused, and I’m so fucking devastated. My heart physically aches. I never really shared Wesley here because I wanted to keep him all to myself. Here’s a little glimpse of my son. Fuck, I miss him

White shared on Facebook a few days earlier: “My heart is absolutely broken. Coming here and seeing all your love for Wesley is so overwhelming.”

She continued, “I’ll never understand, but Wesley went into some kind of cardiac arrest.

‘We were on the way to the hospital and things went terribly downhill.

“I will love him forever.”

The post, published on November 10, provided no further insight into the child’s death, which was only revealed hours earlier in another post on the influencer’s social media.

In it, the mother of one admitted that she “(didn’t) know what to do with (herself)” after Wesley’s sudden death, which happened earlier that morning and took her and her husband by surprise.

Having since resumed reviews for her some 155,300 followers, she wrote at the time: “Wesley lost his life this morning and I really can’t understand why.”

“All I know,” she continued, posting a GoFundMe link, “is that I have to put my baby in the ground.”

“I can’t sit around and do anything else until this is sorted out. Everything helps.’

There are countless photos and videos I want to share of Welsey, but these are at the top of my favorite. Thank you to everyone who reached out. I’m not sure when I’ll come back to booktok, but you guys have helped me in more ways than you realize.

A day later, after sharing an emotional slideshow of the family’s travels and experiences over the past two years, White took to TikTok, her favorite platform, to provide a more in-depth update on her emotional state.

There, a week after her son died, she revealed that she and her husband had just returned from the toddler’s funeral service, which she called a “celebration of his life.”

She admitted that although the occasion was somber, “it was great to see family and friends and… everyone who was so affected by it.”

She called Wesley’s death “fucking awful” and thanked her fans – who she affectionately calls her “book review” – for having her back.

“I’m absolutely blown away,” she said of the heartfelt response, after onlookers within days paid the $30,000 she requested for the aid, and would cover the costs of burying her son, whom she revealed that he had been cremated.

“I don’t think I really deserve you,” she admitted, “but I am forever grateful for how this community came to help me. I’ll never forget.’
