Tiger Woods explained the meaning of his infamous Sunday Red outfits as his new clothing line was officially launched in the early hours of Wednesday.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the golfing legend’s new clothing line, Sun Day Red, which has hit stores since his split from Nike earlier this year after 27 years with the sportswear giant.

And his loyal followers don’t have to wait any longer as the 48-year-old appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York late Tuesday night to promote the clothing line’s midnight launch.

However, the fans desperate to get their hands on the new clothes better have deep pockets.

The line, which officially went on sale at midnight ET on the brand’s website, features polo shirts ranging from $120 to $170.

Meanwhile, hoodies can be had for as much as $200, shorts for $130, long pants for $165 and hats for $40 to $50.

There will also be on-course accessories available for purchase, including gloves and towels, with the limited-edition ball makers giving back $50 to fans.

“It’s about athletes being first and designing something for the athlete so we can perform at a higher level,” Woods told the TV host when asked about his behind-the-line design process.

The name Sun Day Red was inspired by Woods’ infamous outfits that he wears on the final day of tournaments.

The 15-time major winner always wore red on Sunday, making for many memorable looks for his multiple wins and revealing he has his mother, Kultida, to thank for it.

“The red story is actually a good story,” he added. ‘It comes from my mother. My mom thought I was a Capricorn, my power color or some BS.

“I ended up wearing red, and I won some junior golf tournaments, and then, despite her, I wore blue and then I didn’t win those tournaments. Mom is always right.’

Woods joined forces with TaylorMade and first announced an expanded partnership with the new golf apparel and accessories line in February.

Woods has been modeling his Sun Day Red line in recent months, debuting it during his highly anticipated return to the PGA Tour at the Genesis Invitational in February.

The golf icon did it in his new brand at Riviera Country Club for his first competitive tournament of 2024.

He wore a black sweater with the brand’s logo, a tiger emblem, stitched in white under the collar with a matching cap.

The tiger logo consists of 15 stripes – one for each major he has won – while the brand name is inspired by the color Woods chooses for each final round he plays.

He also wore his own merchandise at The Masters this year, including a red polo for Sunday’s final round. Ironically, however, Sun Day Red launched without red polos in the range on the website.
