Tiger Woods sparks concerns amongst golf fans as clip from Las Vegas charity poker night goes viral

Tiger Woods has sparked concern among golf fans when a clip from his own charity poker event in Las Vegas went viral on social media.

The 15-time major winner was praised for the $22 million his TGR Foundation has raised since 1998 by American professional poker player Phil Hellmuth in a clip from his Tiger Jam poker charity event.

One of the highlights of the event is Tiger’s Poker Night, which attracts famous celebrities and well-known faces from the poker world.

Hellmuth, who has won a record 17 World Series of Poker bracelets, met Woods at one point with popular Twitch streamer Ninja to talk about some of his foundation’s achievements.

The 48-year-old golfer said without a doubt, TGR’s greatest success comes from the stories children come back and tell after being educated through his foundation.

Fans suggested Tiger Woods looked ‘sweetened’ at his own charity event in Sin City last week

“Suddenly they’re thriving in college,” he said. “Going to Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Yale and going to great places and doing great things.”

However, the clip raised eyebrows among golf fans, with some on X suggesting the Hall of Fame golfer had had a few drinks.

“Tiger Woods easily gets 3 perks and 7 vodka sodas in this video lmao,” one user shared.

“Tiger is absolutely into talking about Mars lmao,” another wrote, while someone else said, “Tiger is quite kissed.”

Some fans, on the other hand, were quick to jump to Woods’ defense, invoking his right to privacy and going wild on the night of his big charity event.

“People are mad that he’s partying in Vegas? What?’ which a user pointed out on X.

“He’s just living,” said another, while someone else said: “Let him enjoy his life.” Do not judge! His foundation is doing fantastic things.”

Woods has had several run-ins with the police in the past due to his alcohol and drug use.

In 2017, Woods was arrested near his home on Jupiter Island, Florida, for driving under the influence. He was sleeping in his car at the time, which was stationary on the road with the engine running.

He eventually pleaded guilty to reckless driving and was given a year’s probation, as well as a $250 fine, and the mandatory requirement to complete 50 hours of community service, along with regular drug testing.

Woods was also not allowed to drink alcohol while on probation, and if he violated his probation, he would be sentenced to 90 days in jail with an additional $500 fine.

In 2009, Woods was prescribed Ambien and Vicodin when he famously crashed his car outside his home in Windermere, Florida, while reportedly in an extra marital relationship. The local police ultimately did not file a report after the incident.

At the time, Woods blamed that incident and the one from 2017 on his prescription medications, not alcohol.

After admitting to having multiple affairs with other women while married to his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, Woods spent six weeks in a drug rehabilitation center in Mississippi for sex addiction.

He also checked into a treatment center in Arizona in 2010 after battling addiction to Vicodin and Ambien.

Most recently, in 2021, he survived a serious car accident in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

It was later reported that Woods was driving more than 80 miles per hour, almost twice the speed limit, before he crashed. However, no other vehicles were involved in the wreck and Woods was not subjected to a breath test at the time as he was believed to be unimpaired.
