In an unsurprising decision, Tiger Woods has officially pulled out of the upcoming 2023 US Open at the Los Angeles Country Club in June.
The 15-time big winner underwent surgery in April after performing at The Masters.
This procedure, a subtalar fusion, was done to treat post-traumatic arthritis from when the golfer broke his leg in a car accident.
Woods pulled out of The Masters, saying he was dealing with recurring plantar fasciitis after making the cut for the 23rd consecutive time.
Tiger has not played in a US Open since 2019 – when the tournament returned to Pebble Beach – due to the COVID outbreak and multiple injuries. He finished that 2019 tournament at two under par to finish tied for 21st.
