Tiger Woods was spotted at his golf course in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, ahead of the PGA Tour’s stop there this week.

The 47-year-old, wearing a pink Nike shirt, black golf cap, pants and shoes, was spotted riding in a golf cart at the site of the World Wide Technology Championship on Tuesday afternoon.

El Cardonal in Diamente, designed by Woods himself and completed in 2014, will host the 2023 World Wide Technology Championship on November 2.

Woods plays host as he recovers from surgery in April. And while the golf legend and his camp have yet to provide a timeline for his recovery, speculation continues to arise regarding his return.

On October 7, fans were teased with a video of the 15-time major winner hitting a wedge shot on a par-3 hole in Pebble Beach.

Woods was forced to withdraw from The Masters in April due to aggravated plantar fasciitis

Speculation escalated further when Woods announced that his Hero World Challenge would begin on November 30 in the Bahamas. When the 20-man field for the tournament was announced, the lineup was one player short. This has left fans wondering if Woods will fill the spot at the end of November.

Woods was forced to withdraw from The Masters in April after three rounds and has not played professionally since. Before the tournament, Woods admitted his golfing days were numbered due to injuries.

“I don’t know how much more I have left in me,” the five-time Masters winner said during a press conference. ‘Just to be able to appreciate the time and cherish the memories.

‘I’m very lucky to have the leg. Mobility and endurance: things will never be the same in the future. I can’t prepare and play as many tournaments as I would like, but that’s okay and I’m fine with it.”

Later in April, Woods also underwent a subtalar fusion procedure to help post-traumatic arthritis due to a talus fracture he suffered in a 2021 car accident.

Aside from the possible return to the Hero World Challenge, Woods and his son Charlie have competed in the last three PNC Championships. The father-and-son tandem could appear again in December at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando as they have yet to win the match despite coming close.

It will be the first year that Woods’ El Cardonal will host the WWT Championship after the former venue of 16 years was removed from the PGA Tour schedule.

The Tour removed El Camaleon in Mayakoba from the circuit after LIV Golf used the course for the season opener in February.

The World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba made golf history in 2007 when it became the first PGA Tour event contested outside the United States or Canada.

The PGA Tour’s deal with Mayakoba, engineered by LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman, ended after 2022.
