Tiger Woods confirmed on Sunday morning that he was pulling out of the Masters due to injury, but his fans are behind him.

Woods, who was seen limping heavily during Saturday’s play, said on Twitter that he had aggravated his plantar fasciitis again and is leaving the famous tournament with 29 rounds to play.

And his fans were quick to offer their support after his announcement.

“We’re still riding your Tiger. See you next year,’ said one.

“Thanks again, Tiger. Every time we see you play and make history is such a blessing. Rest [goat]’ added another.

The 15-time grand winner scraped into the weekend after winning by a single shot, but was battered by conditions at the start of his third round and dropped to the bottom of the standings at +9.

Cameras caught him limping badly during Saturday’s final moments before play was suspended due to weather conditions.

Given his injury, Woods did well to make the cut for a 23rd straight tournament, and his efforts were not wasted on the fans.

“Yesterday you showed a lot of guts, perseverance and determination not to stop,” one of them said. You will forever be the greatest champion.’

“Still proud of you for making the cut. You will always be a winner,” added another.

“We love you brother,” said another fan.

News of Woods’ withdrawal from the tournament was first announced by the organizers of the Masters on Sunday morning.

It read: ‘Due to injury, Tiger Woods has officially withdrawn from The Masters Tournament after completing seven holes of his third round.’

Woods wished his fellow competitors the best when he confirmed the news on his Twitter.

“I’m disappointed to have to go to the WD this morning because my plantar fasciitis has gotten worse again,” he said.
