Tiffany Haddish says she has been sober from alcohol and weed for 72 days after second DUI arrest: ‘It’s not that hard’
After her latest brush with the law, Tiffany Haddish has taken a new path.
The Emmy Award winner revealed she is on 72 days of sobriety from alcohol and weed when she made an appearance on Friday The conversation with Amanda de Cadenet podcast after her second DUI in November.
“I haven’t had any alcohol, smoked weed or anything in 72 days,” she said. ‘It’s not that difficult.’
Haddish was first arrested on January 14, 2022, in Peachtree City, Georgia, where she was charged with driving under the influence of marijuana.
On November 24, 2023, Haddish was arrested again in Beverly Hills when she was found asleep behind the wheel of her car, which was still running and stopped in the middle of the street.

She was then ordered to take court-ordered driving sobriety tests.
“You know, I’ve been waiting two years for my hearing in Georgia, and what happened in LA has triggered Georgia, and they’re like, ‘Okay, we want you to take an alcohol test,'” she explained. “And I’m like, ‘Cool.'”
Haddish said, “There is no problem,” and she has “passed every test.”
“I didn’t do much of it in the first place because the only time I smoked weed during my period was because it was so painful,” Haddish noted.
“I’m learning now that I had friends who drank and stuff when I was a teenager and they did drugs and stuff, but it wasn’t really something I was into,” she recalls.
“I thought it was just one person’s problem,” Haddish continued.
“And now, in my journey, I’m learning it’s an epidemic. It’s quite a task, especially for people in their thirties.’
Last month, Haddish settled her Beverly Hills case, accepting a reckless driving conviction and having her two drunk driving charges dropped.
