Tiffany Haddish reveals she had eight miscarriages and kept it private because she wanted to be alone ‘in a cave like a wounded animal’

Tiffany Haddish revealed the heartbreaking news that she had experienced eight miscarriages in a new interview with the Washington Post.

The Girls Trip star, 43, also explained why she kept the news private, saying she ‘didn’t want people to say it’.

She didn’t want to be asked, “Are you okay?” Are you okay? Like a wounded animal, I’d rather go into a cave alone. Lick my wounds.’

The Haunted Mansion actress – who said her breakup with rapper Common wasn’t mutual – recently experienced her eighth miscarriage and recalls telling a nurse, “Well I’m going to be honest with you, this would be my eighth [miscarriage].

“I have a uterus in the shape of a heart,” she explained. “It’s just not holding anything in.”

Earlier this year, she thought she might adopt a baby and took parenting classes in preparation, but now she’s not sure she wants to be a mother.

Haddish had a troubled childhood growing up in South Central Los Angeles. Her father left when she was three.

When she was eight, her mother was in a car accident that damaged her brain, after which she was physically and emotionally abused.

By the time she was 13, she and her sibling were placed in foster care.

While trying to make it in Hollywood, she lived in her car – a red 1995 Geo Metro.

Her career success came late with a breakout role in 2017’s Girl’s Trip. She was 37 years old.

Success in later life makes the actress feel like she has to make up for lost time and play every role that comes her way.

She is set to star in the biggest movie of her career – the upcoming Disney movie Haunted House – playing a psychic named Harriet.

In addition, she is raising $25 million to build a healthy food market in a commercial complex in the Crenshaw neighborhood of Los Angeles.

“I’ve always dreamed of being in a Disney movie, and this is the biggest movie I’ve ever been in,” Haddish said, referring to the $160 million Haunted Mansion.

‘But it’s not as important as the supermarket. I don’t know if movies change people’s lives.’

Movies have certainly changed Haddish’s life.
