Tickets for Taylor Swift’s Sydney shows reportedly sold out in 82 minutes.

A limited number of tickets for Swift’s Sydney leg of her Eras Tour in Australia became available at 10am AEDT, reportedly attracting millions of eager fans vying for fewer than 100,000 ‘partially obstructed’ seats.

Fans experienced a moment of panic when Ticketek’s website started sales at 10am AEDT, with the site occasionally switching between two screens.

At 10:25 am AEDT, only a few seats were left, and at 11:01 am it was announced that the February 24 show in Sydney was sold out, followed by the February 23 show minutes later.

At 11:22 am all tickets were sold out. A limited number of tickets for ‘partially obstructed view’ seating for Swift’s shows in Melbourne were due to go on sale at 4pm AEDT.

During the sale, it was advised that if your screen switched from the ‘Taylor Swift Ticketek Lounge’ to ‘Welcome to Ticketek’, you should click the button labeled ‘Click here for Taylor Swift Tickets’ to resume your place in the queue .

The announcement yesterday raised expectations as a limited number of tickets for Swift’s previously sold-out Australian leg of the Eras Tour were set to go on sale today.

Fans eagerly counted down the seconds until tickets became available.

This fix was first discovered during the original sale in June, amid the chaos of website crashes and long virtual queues.

Interestingly enough, a handful of physical box offices across the country offered fans an alternate route to purchase tickets.

Long lines were seen in both Melbourne and Sydney on Friday morning as fans camped out to secure their seats.

It comes as die-hard fans have flocked to outsourcing site Airtasker in a bid to hire people to help them buy a ticket to her concert.

An avid fan has reportedly paid six people $100 each to help him get a ticket, meaning that even if he is successful, he will receive an additional $600 out of pocket, reports news.com.au.

A ticket to Swift’s concert can cost as much as $1,275, meaning die-hard fans can spend as much as $1,875 to see Taylor perform live.

With more than a million fans vying for another 450,000 tickets to Swift’s shows in Sydney and Melbourne, it seems people need all the help they can get in getting a ticket.

Scalped tickets for the shows are skyrocketing in price and authorities have canceled at least 54 illegal tickets.

They have appeared on a host of sites including eBay, Gumtree and Stubhub.

In Victoria, selling tickets to major events for more than 10 per cent above face value is illegal, with fines of up to $576,930 for businesses that break the law.

Fines of up to $962 also apply to individuals who violate these terms.

Taylor announced a third show in Melbourne at the MCG on February 18 next year and a fourth concert in Sydney at Accor Stadium on February 26 as part of The Eras Tour.

She will become the first artist since Madonna to perform three consecutive concerts at the Melbourne Cricket Ground when she takes the stage in February next year, and the first ever to play a fourth consecutive show at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

The new performances are in addition to the existing concerts in Melbourne on February 16, 17 and 18 and the shows in Sydney on February 23, 24, 25 and 26.
