Fans hoping to see Lionel Messi lift his first trophy in the US will have to shell out at least $460 to get into Geodis Park stadium for Saturday night’s Leagues Cup final against Nashville.

Standard tickets will be available on Ticketmaster starting Thursday night, but the cheapest ticket costs just under $500 for a seat in row Z. Prices for standard tickets are set by both Major League Soccer and Ticketmaster.

Resale prices, meanwhile, are as high as $2,600 for tickets behind the dugouts for Saturday’s finale.

The Messi factor has played no small part in driving demand for Major League Soccer tickets to see him in action for Miami.

Before Messi and his team played the Philadelphia Union on Tuesday night, coach Jim Curtin begged Union fans not to sell their tickets, regardless of the money offered.

“Please don’t sell your tickets, no matter how much money they offer for them, please,” he said, hoping a more committed fan turnout could intimidate Miami and Messi.

Unfortunately for Curtin, nothing like this happened and Messi scored from 35 yards out as his team defeated Union 4-1.

A New York Red Bulls fan, meanwhile, managed to pay for her knee surgery by selling her $505 ticket to the August 26 game in Miami.

Geodis Park seats 25,000 and it could be not only a historic night for Messi, but also a big night for local Nashville fans.

Should Nashville upset the odds and win Saturday’s Finals, it will be the first major sports title won by a Tennessee team.

The Titans have never won a Super Bowl, the Nashville Predators have never won the Stanley Cup, and the Memphis Grizzlies are still waiting for their first NBA title.

Nashville reached the final by beating Mexican team Monterrey 2-0 at Geodis Park on Tuesday night.
