Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict set six month guideline for introducing new partners to their kids

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict went public and announced their separation last October after more than 14 years of marriage.

Some eight months later, the former couple has since worked out the details of their divorce, including taking pre-planned steps in how they each raise their children in two separate homes, according to legal documents obtained by People.

Among the details in the document: a timeline for each of them to propose future romantic partners to their two children: son Cree, 11, and daughter Cairo, five.

“In the absence to the contrary, each party will be restrained from introducing the minor children to a new romantic partner until that party has been in an exclusive relationship with the romantic partner for at least six months,” the provision said.

Both Mowry and Hardrict will also have to forego having one of their love interests by spending nights at their respective homes when the kids are present for the first six months of the exclusive relationship.

The six-month timelines regarding new romantic partners would be in “the best interests of the children,” the document read.

They also agreed to keep intact a previous agreement — to share legal and physical custody of their children — originally proposed by Mowry in a lawsuit in October.

Mowry, 44, and Hardrict, 47, who met on the set of their film Hollywood Horror (2005), “also entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their rights to marriage or partnership, including support.”

The Sister Sister alum publicly announced their separation in a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a black and white photo of the couple staring deep into each other’s eyes, with a concerned look on their faces.

“I’ve always been honest with my fans and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways,” she began. “These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children.”

With respect and class, she added, “I’m grateful for all the happy times we’ve had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we embark on this new chapter in our lives.”

Around the time they were finalizing the divorce in April, the actress shared several photos of herself with her two children, including several where she shared her thoughts and emotions about her changing family dynamic.

In a selfie, with the sun shining on her while her dark hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail, she wrote, “It’s a beautiful Monday.”

In a separate post shared to her roster, the mom-of-two got real and honest when she shared a few photos of her cuddling in bed with Cree and Cairo.

“If I’m being completely honest with all of you, the past few months have been some of the hardest of my life,” she confessed, in an obvious reference to the divorce.

There’s no telling which way life will go and nothing but one thing is ever certain: the love I have for these two. They are the reason I keep pushing myself to work harder every day. Even when things get tough, I do everything for my children, for their future and for generations to come,” she said.

Last November, during a performance at the Today show, Mowry revealed her moment of clarity when she knew it was time to move on from her marriage to Hardrict, who currently stars on the series All American: Homecoming.

Admitting that her “awakening” happened “when I really started to focus on my happiness,” the entertainer shared how women “tend to focus on everyone’s happiness to make sure everyone is okay — which means our children, our friends, our family.’

She continued, “But at the end of the day, it’s about self-love. And when you really start working on yourself, loving yourself, knowing your worth, knowing your worth, then suddenly there’s that awakening.’

The Family Reunion actress shared that “it’s not easy, it’s a tough journey, but at the end of the day I feel like it’s so, so worth it.”

Distressing life events also reminded her to seize the day, especially when two of her relatives died close to each other, starting with her grandmother.

Tia’s twin sister Tamera then lost her 18-year-old niece Alaina Housley in a mass shooting at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California.

Before her marriage ended, Tia said, “There was this sadness. And I knew that life is short. I had actually lost my grandmother.

“We lost Alaina Housley. And both at the same time.’

Tia reflected, “There was just an “aha” moment inside me where I said, “You know what? We need to tap into, see what’s really going on with your happiness. Life is short. Let’s go. Let’s we’re going to work on you and really focus on what’s really, really important here, and that’s at the end of the day, your peace, your joy and your happiness.”
