Thrill-seekers were forced to flee for their lives as massive waves from Hurricane Hilary slammed into the shore, ruining their view as the deadly storm felt its impact in Mexico and California.
The thrill seekers gathered on a Cabo San Lucas beach in the resort town of Baja California on Saturday, a day before Hurricane Hilary made landfall in the Pacific coastal state with winds of 65 miles per hour.
“It looks small, but they’re probably 15 to 18 feet,” said the person who shot the video as the waves crashed onto the shore.
Two men taking in the waves could be seen taking a few steps back before a woman was heard screaming.

The group of wave watchers immediately ran away as the water raced over the sand.
A man could also be seen trying to get on top of the horse instead of pulling it away, while a few people stood next to him.
The storm was downgraded to a Category 2 hurricane and roared toward the Baja California Peninsula, causing significant flooding in the region.
A person drowned on Sunday in the town of Mulegé on the east coast of the peninsula after trying to drive across a flooding stream.
Mayor Edith Aguilar said the man’s wife and their three children were rescued by a family.
