Thrifty shopper buys kilos of fresh produce and seafood for just $50 at Paddy’s Markets Flemington in Sydney

Money-saving Australians have discovered a market where consumers can buy a huge amount of fresh fruit, vegetables and groceries for just $50.

Located in Flemington, 15km west of Sydney city centre, Paddy's Market has a range of fresh produce, seafood, deli, plants and groceries at a fraction of the price of major supermarkets.

Sydney foodie Jubilee Eats visited the markets to see how much she could buy for just $50 and walked away with kilos of cucumbers, mangoes, tomatoes and radishes, as well as honey, lettuce and prawns.

'The holiday season can be busy, but it doesn't have to be expensive!' she said on Instagram video.

'This is where I buy most of my fruit and vegetables AND you can also buy affordable seafood here, perfect for your Christmas dinners and events!'

The customer bought a head of lettuce for $1 and then an entire box of cucumbers for just $2.

She found two 'large' radishes for $2 each, as well as a whole box of mangoes for $10, tomatoes for $2.50/kg, 1.5 liters of honey for $16.50 and more than a kilo of shrimp for just $15.

All told, she spent just $50.50 on the impressive haul.

She advised those who want to beat the crowds and find the best deals to visit the market on Fridays instead of Saturdays.

Viewers were impressed by the 'fantastic bargains' and how far $50 went at Paddy's market.

'Awesome!!! I would drive the hour and a half to Sydney just for this market,” said one woman.

“It's been so long since I last visited, I need to get to this market soon,” replied a second.

“Um THE BOX OF COCUMBIER FOR $2 that's crazy, so much value here,” a third added.

“That's SOOO AWESOME. Imagine how many cocktails you can make with that many cucumbers,” another agreed.

Paddy's Markets in Flemington is open on Fridays from 10am to 4.30pm, on Saturdays from 6am to 2pm and on Sundays from 9am to 4.30pm.

For those who don't want to head west, there is also the Paddy's Markets in Haymarket, open Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
