A thrifty woman used a hand truck strapped to the back of her small car to haul an old cabinet from a neighboring property.

Footage of the moment, shared online, shows the woman checking that the cabinet is securely attached to the trolley before driving away.

The cupboard appeared to have been left at the roadside for rubbish collection, but was instead picked up by the woman driving the car.

A deranged man, filmed as a female driver used a trolley strapped to her car to tow an old closet (pictured, the woman inspects the tension straps)

“I’m not sure if you can see this, but that’s a TV cabinet, and that’s the old shape (Hyundai) Elantra,” said the man who shot the video.

“And she’s got a moving van under there, and I just watched her wrap a big strap around it (and) around the trunk.

‘Here we go, I need to take some pictures… make sure it’s safe to tow him, prove he’s secured.

‘No way, you won’t. No, you’re not… Get out of here.”

While the woman managed to collect the box for free, she risked heavy fines by transporting it recklessly.

In NSW, drivers can be fined $457 for “operating a vehicle with an unsecured load” or $2,200 for “driving carelessly.”

It is not known whether the woman has been arrested by the police.
