A toddler has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a poaching dog attack.

Emergency services were called to a property on Paterson Road in Yatala, north of the Gold Coast, at around 5.20pm on Wednesday after a report of a dog attacking a child.

The three-year-old was taken by ambulance to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

“It is concerning that another young child has suffered significant injuries from dog bites,” the Queensland Ambulance Service said.

“Several paramedics were called to a private address in Yatala at 5.20pm and transported a child in serious condition with head and neck injuries to Queensland Children’s Hospital.”

Gold Coast City Council said several dogs had been seized by animal control officials and an investigation was underway Courier Mail reported.

Three dogs, including a German Shepherd and a bullmastiff, were removed from the property at about 7 p.m.

The news comes just days after a six-year-old girl was attacked by two dogs in Woodridge, south of Brisbane, after climbing a fence.

Emergency services were called to a property in Ormesby St.

The child was rushed to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition after suffering significant abdominal, chest and shoulder injuries.

It is clear that she is in a serious but stable condition.
