Three-year-old girl left on Trundle school bus: Young girl rescued after spending hours alone in a vehicle in NSW

A three-year-old girl who sat sad and alone in a parked school bus in regional NSW for four hours is recovering from the ordeal.
A man spotted the little girl sitting in the front seat of an unattended bus parked on Forbes Street in the central western town of Trundle just before noon on Wednesday.
The man opened the bus before contacting the girl’s parents, police said.

Paramedics treated the child before she was taken to Parkes Hospital, where she was examined and later discharged.
A spokeswoman for NSW Health confirmed that the girl is in good health.
The girl was trapped alone on the bus for about four hours and was said to have been dropped off at the Trundle Children’s Center in the city center around 8:30 am.

NSW Police and the Department of Education are investigating the incident.
The department said the vehicle has been identified as a “private school bus.”
“The ministry has been made aware of a serious incident involving the transportation of a child on a private school bus attending a service in Trundle,” it said in a statement to Nine news.
“The ministry is investigating the matter and cannot comment further at this time.”
A witness told Radio of 2 GB the girl was accidentally left on the bus before the three-year-old was found around 12:30 p.m.
Officers from the Central West police district are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
