Sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, winner of three Olympic gold medals, decimated the competition in a race for parents on her son’s school sports day.
The Jamaican 100m star, whose personal best time of 10.6 seconds makes her the third fastest woman of all time behind Florence Joyner-Griffith and Elaine Thompson-Herah, left nothing to chance when she set out to compete in the race, beating the rest of the pack by nearly 50 metres.
Fraser-Pryce’s name is often mentioned in discussions of the greatest sprinters of all time, so it’s no surprise that she can’t shake a competitive spirit even in less than Olympic circumstances.
Cheered on by trackside fans, Fraser-Pryce nearly disappeared from sight to cross the finish line before the camera could catch her opponents.
The ‘Pocket Rocket’ was competing in support of his son Zyon, who was born in 2017, three years before Fraser-Pryce won a gold medal in the 100m relay at the Tokyo Olympics.
Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce fired the starting gun in an instant and crossed the finish line 50m ahead of her competition.

Four-time Olympic gold medal-winning sprinter Michael Johnson was impressed by Fraser-Pryce’s commitment and mocked his own anxieties surrounding the parents’ career.
He posted: ‘At my son’s school parent sports day, I was long retired and some of the parents were younger than me. Increased risk of “I’m John and I just beat Michael Johnson in a race.” No!’
