Three men have been convicted of the repeated gang rape of a British tourist in Benidorm.
They were each jailed for eight and a half years after being found guilty of the horrific crime following a trial at an Alicante court.
The three judges concluded that they had raped their victim twice in just four hours: the first time in a park near a football field in the holiday resort on the Costa Blanca and the second time in a vacant lot near the El Cisne flea market .
They forced themselves on her after approaching her near a pub where she had been drinking and taking her to the secluded spot where they sexually assaulted her.
The judges ruled that they took advantage of the fact that she was under the influence of alcohol to commit their sexual crimes. The victim is described as being in a state of ‘semi-consciousness’ at the time.

The convicted men, a Spaniard and two Moroccans between the ages of 24 and 34, have not been named prior to a possible appeal.
Prosecutors said they were seeking prison terms of just over 12 years for each of the three men when they went on trial at Audiencia provincial court in Alicante in November last year.
A court official said ahead of their trial: “Public prosecutors are seeking prison sentences of 12 years and three months for three men accused of sexually assaulting a woman multiple times.”
He added: ‘According to prosecutors, they started a conversation with the young woman in a pub in Benidorm and, taking advantage of the drunken state she was in, took her to a nearby park where they raped her before taking her to a wasteland where they repeated their crimes
‘The victim fled the scene as quickly as possible but before she did, the men allegedly stole a watch and ring from her worth £365.
The three men admitted to having sex with the British tourist, but insisted it was consensual.
The victim, who gave evidence via video link from Britain, said she could not clearly remember what happened but recalled ending up in the back seat of a car with her clothes unbuttoned and her legs outside the vehicle after she was taken. from the unnamed pub she had left to smoke a cigarette outside.
She told the court she remembered feeling pain in her genitals and seeing “three or four men” near her.
According to reports at the time, she blamed her condition on the fact that her drinks had been spiked.
The horrific gang rape took place in the early hours of October 2, 2016.
The rapists were convicted not only of the sexual assaults, but also of theft.
The judges, who handed down their verdict in a lengthy written ruling, called the victim’s account of what happened “credible”, despite the fact that her memory had been impaired by alcohol.
Other evidence was also taken into account, including a 999 call from a witness who saw a woman walking half-naked along a road near where the second series of rapes took place.
Last October, police arrested two men over the rape of a British tourist near Benidorm in a separate ongoing case.
Detectives revealed the holidaymaker was sexually assaulted after she agreed to pay two men who offered to take her back to her hotel in their car for POUNDS 13 while she waited for a taxi at the famous Costa Blanca resort.
She was allegedly raped in the home of one of the suspects after she fell asleep in the back of the car.
The men, both Algerian nationals aged 39 and 44, were taken into custody pending an ongoing investigation.
One of them was also hunted over a violent robbery two days before the sex attack in Villajoyosa, next to Benidorm.
