Three children are injured in a horror accident, while six people are injured as the major highway is closed in both directions

Three children have been rushed to hospital and a major highway remains closed after two cars collided head-on in the middle of the day.
Two double taxis traveling in opposite directions crashed on Bruce Highway, south of Gladstone in Queensland, at 11am on Wednesday, injuring six people.
Paramedics, along with firefighters and police, were called to a location near Bororen to rescue two men trapped in separate cars.
Both men were taken to hospital in serious conditions, one with a head injury, while the woman in her 30s was found in a stable condition with an arm injury.
One of the children, a 14-year-old boy, was also taken to hospital with serious head injuries, while the others, seven and four, were treated for abrasions.

Paramedics, firefighters and police were called to the scene at 11am on Wednesday, where they found two men trapped in separate cars and others injured.
One of the cars was believed to contain a man and child, while the other contained a family of five.
Debris from the cars was strewn across the highway and the bull bars of both vehicles were smashed into the front cabs.
A child was found at the scene, but was unharmed.
The two men were each trapped in their vehicles for about an hour before emergency services were able to remove them.
With the help of bystanders, everyone was able to get to safety.
A helicopter from Rockhampton left for the crash site at 11.20am and took off at 2pm with a man in his 40s and the teenage boy traveling together and believed to be related.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the man had serious leg injuries and the child had a head wound.
The other man was transported separately to Bundaberg Hospital with serious pelvic and chest injuries.
Emergency services have since closed both directions of the Bruce Highway near Three Mile Creek Bridge and warned motorists to avoid the area.
A Rockhampton Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating the area which is expected to remain closed well into the night.
