Thousands of pro-Palestine protestors calling for ceasefire in Gaza storm Washington DC – with some waving signs calling Biden a child murderer
Thousands of pro-Palestine supporters have taken to the streets of Washington DC demanding a ceasefire, waving signs calling Biden a “child murderer.”
The massive gathering is the latest demonstration against Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, which has killed more than 9,250 people so far, according to the Health Ministry.
An estimated 30,000 protesters were expected to gather at the city’s Freedom Plaza from 2 p.m. before marching in a loop past the White House.
The protesters are demanding an end to US military aid to Israel and the country’s retaliatory attacks on Gaza, which have ravaged the nation since the October 7 Hamas terror attack that killed 1,400 people.
‘Now is the time to stand with the besieged people of Palestine! Gaza is bombed every hour. The population is denied food, water and electricity by Israel. Tens of thousands more people will probably die. We must ACT!’ a post on the Answer Coalition website.

Several attendees at the meeting seized on provocative signals, including this one accusing President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of infanticide.
The group said buses had been hired to transport pro-Palestinian supporters from across the US and its territories to the event.
Images show hordes of protesters holding Palestinian flags and signs, accusing the US of enabling war crimes.
One sign showed a photo of Biden with blood-soaked hands and read: “Gaza has become a graveyard for children, killing one every ten minutes.”
Cries of ‘Free, Free Palestine’ also arose on the Plaza, which quickly became overcrowded.
Orthodox and other Jews were among those who lent their support to the protest, holding banners reading: “Judaism condemns Zionist terrorism in Gaza.”
There were nine Palestinian organizations listed as co-sponsors of the event, which received support from another 443 groups, including anti-war coalitions, environmentalists, and Christian and other religious groups.
The march in Washington comes as similar protests took place across the country, including in New York, Seattle and San Francisco, as well as in smaller cities like Orono, Maine.
In the Big Apple, “busloads” of protesters gathered at Herald Square in solidarity with the DC march.

The bombing of Gaza in retaliation for the October 7 Hamas attacks, which killed 1,400 people, is estimated to have killed more than 9,250 Gazans, according to the Health Ministry.
Rallies were also held around the world on Saturday in major cities such as London, Berlin, Paris, Ankara and Istanbul.
Jewish groups have advised against counter-protests or joining pro-Palestinian demonstrators Guardian reports.
Jen Zwilling of the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center sent members an email warning that involvement “could increase the likelihood of violence or anti-Semitic rhetoric,” the outlet reports.
The bombing entered its 27th day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected President Biden’s calls for a “humanitarian pause” on the attacks earlier this week.
Biden did not suggest a full ceasefire but supported a pause to allow humanitarian aid and prisoner movement, the White House clarified.
His comments, made in the wake of waning support for the strikes after reports of refugee camps and churches being hit, mark a departure from previous pledges not to dictate Israel’s military policy.
